The ‘22 Super White SR5 I ordered has a real VIN and salesman updates me every couple days. ETA is Nov 5th. Has some Port add-ons I don’t want, including aluminum tube steps I’ll be taking off. I’ve ordered some things from Tacoma Lifestyle for the interior. Will also be ordering some PRP seat covers and hard tonneau. In the spring, I’ll be looking for a lift and tires, and waiting on Carven exhaust.

Suggestions for bumpers and sliders that are bolt-on? Other suggestions welcome too!

I’m pretty pumped. Only my fourth vehicle in 23 years of being able to legally drive.

The OE tube steps that came on my 2018 OR DCLB were pretty useless for stepping up into the cab. They were too high and too close to the truck body to really get a foot onto. I sold them and got 4" oval steps that were a bit lower and further out.

Congrats! Similar story here as I've had 3 previous vehicles that I kept for 8 years (high school / college), less than a year (mistake!), and 10 years (current Xterra) respectively. My Tacoma is supposed to arrive at the dealership today and I'm taking the whole day off work on Monday when I pick it up... I only do this once every decade so I'm going to make a day of it, haha!

If it's useful for reference, at least one '21 arrived at the dealership here on Tuesday and my truck will be the first '22 to arrive here today. It's just a digit on the window sticker :)

I put down a deposit on a 2021 TRD OR on Oct 6th. I wanted one with the full technology package, but after some back and forth over arriving inventory at the dealer it was clear that the full technology package was rare (chip issue? chips going to PRO model? The salesperson did not know), so I settled on Safety Sense being enough. I got a call within a week of a truck meeting my specs, and the salesperson reserved it for me. I have been getting weekly updates on status, the truck is supposedly waiting to get on a truck.

    When I go here https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification
to check it shows the information for the truck, but not much on the where it actually is on the delivery side.
Is there a place to check this information that I missed in this thread, or am I just dependent on the salesperson (who has been great)?

The site does not track your vehicle from production to delivery. The only way to follow is through your dealer, unfortunately.

I dig it. Screenshotting that post for science. I haven't ventured into the audio forum at all, is the audio in the stock third gens bad enough to switch out?

Also not sure if I'm a fan of cutting anything on my first new truck. But then again, I've been more then careless on all my other shitboxes and they all worked out well

We all have our automotive related fetishes. The stock sound system is probably adequate for most. Upgrading the audio involves going down two rabbit holes, the audio system itself and the soundproofing rabbit hole. It's one of those pursuits where you can get as crazy as your wallet will allow.

Have put deposit for a 2022 lunar rock OR premium in canada, but sales have no idea when they can get one for me. Some toyota dealership here at lower main land are zero inventory of all new cars.

I'm getting a message that says enter a valid Toyota VIN after I put in the temporary one (39A181). Does this mean it's being switched to a real VIN?

Ya I got the same message Saturday morning when I checked and didn’t know what that meant. I work nights so when I woke up I had a voicemail and a text from my salesman telling me that it’s getting closer.

I got a call that a deal fell through for one out in western pa. Im from jersey but crazy prices here had me looking elsewhere. I rented a car one way and drove to pittsburgh to get it. Beautiful 4x4 access cab v6. The dealership was great no upcharge no pushy tactics. Just sticker price.

I just walked away from a deal with this dealer on a 22 Sport. They played a game with numbers that I didn't appreciate. They did however refund my deposit without any issue. It ends up costing me a couple more weeks of wait time.

sorry to hear that. I honestly feel like they felt bad for me for driving so far. So maybe they took it easy on me. We agreed on price before i headed out there.

Local dealer. I see that your Tacoma has moved along in the production process and vessel arrival. We are waiting on a dealership arrival notification. I expect to see the update happening this week. I'm sending you the information that I am seeing in our system that provides us with updates and ETA.

Yay. Black TRD OR Access cab on the deck!

I am still trying to figure out the use of the term "vessel" since I am pretty sure that it arrived via truck, over land, from Mexico to Tacoma, WA! I always thought vessel was a maritime term.
