What specifically do you do to break the rear gears in? Also, do you change out your diff fluid at 500 or 1k?

If anyone has a permanent VIN and wants me to track it for you to let you know the status, let me know. It's kind of a pain but after doing it on the daily is easy for me lol

I was told it was built at the Baja California plant in Mexico. Frankly, I know these are crazy times and I get that I’m going to have to wait. I’m just confused by the total lack of information on the website info and it appears my dealer is just as in the dark.

I would be frustrated also. For what it’s worth mine was built in the other plant. My dealer is getting a new Tacoma from the Baja plant, his was delayed also, but he now has an eta.

Asked the dealer whether my the build date for my week 08 truck had been moved. He said it still shows a build date of 03/03. Hopefully it doesn’t get pushed back! Anybody else have a week 08 truck set to be built this week?

Nice, were you a week 7 build? Mine was built on Saturday as well, although I haven't gotten any updates from my dealership yet. Only reason I know is my TEMP VIN disappeared.

When I had my temp VIN, I was able to see my truck's build info (model/trim/packages/accessories) on the Toyota App on my phone and here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/login

On Sunday my Temp VIN disappeared online and off my phone app, which I believe means it was built.

It is drive back roads stop and go for 10 to 15 miles and let the diff cool off. Do that again, then take it on the hwy and cruise 10-15 miles 2 to 3 times letting the diff cool in between. Then after that drive normal , no hard throttle or towing ( which you shouldn’t do because you need to break in the engine also) until you hit 500 miles, change the diff fluid and then you are good to go.

In the same boat here. Same build date and week 08. Not too bad if they can hold to it!

Which "other plant" is there? All Tacoma are made in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, Mexico. [TMMGT]

I highlighted and quoted what to click. If you were to try this yourself, what more info would you need?
Genuinely asking for explaining stuff like this in the future.

Unfortunately, they sold it already. They do have a Market Adjustment, too - about $5k - but they toss in "free" engine warranty forever, window tinting, and a pin stripe.

The nice lady I spoke to said that they would be happy to take a $1k deposit over the phone to secure my allocation request. Refundable, of course, if they can't find a truck.

Unfortunately, I opted to not accept this deal.
