Did they give you an initial planned build date? If so, how different was it from actual build?

That's crazy you went from "built" to ETA in like 2 weeks. Many people are weeks after build with no ETA or updates. So random! Congrats on yours, very lucky on your time frame!

I found a dealer near me (Chicago suburbs) that wasn't doing "required" dealer add-ons or adding a "market adjustment" on top of MSRP, and put a deposit on a TRD Off-Road DCSB on December 17. At the time I was told 60-90 days, but that it could be longer. Well, yesterday, I received my build sheet and temporary VIN, with a week 14 build date.

Longo Toyota is also only 130 miles from the US/Mexico border. The salesman kept telling me that when they're built they show up fast.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the truck never got onto a rail car and just came straight from the factory on a semi trailer.

So what options is the truck that you’ve been allocated come with?
You mentioned that you specified at time of deposit a 4 x 4 in lunar rock with options open.

I guess stalking the vspec today helped. Just now I checked and they put an ETA on it. The timeline is crazy. I can't believe how slow they are:

    $500 Deposit 12/15
    Build Date 1/28
Vehicle details show up on dealer website 2/1 (permanent VIN)
Dealer claims it will show up in mid February
    NOTHING....
    3/4 - finally got ETA of 3/28-4/2:

When I placed a deposit I specified 4x4 TRD Sport DCLB in Lunar Rock.
I didn't really care what came as far as package options, just told them I would not buy a truck with leather or a sunroof. Also asked if I could get one without runningboards but didn't care if it had them or not.

Here is my package list that ended up on the build.

v-spec link finally broke today on my week 07 AG DCLB with adv tech package. Page still works for other temp VINs, so seems like things are getting real. Whee for Friday build days

Yesterday in dealership: I was told I could no longer get the Blue Crush Metallic color as it’s not being produced for the rest of the year, so I told them they had one on their website that said in transit, and the reason why I came in so they found and printed out that info and we made a deal on that at an ETA of 50 plus days out…

So, I went home to get the $1k deposit, and when I came back, I was told they found one, and it will be here in two weeks! An SR5 V6 5’ in Blue Crush! I am a lucky dog, I know! =) and they’re my local dealer only 6 1/2 miles away. I’m so glad I didn’t have to drive across different states. Thank you, Lord!

Although, Blazing Blue Pearl is my number one first color choice, but Toyota can’t get their junk together and bring it back, and I just couldn’t justify buying used when at the same price I can get one brand new.

I’m going to make this blue work and it already reminds me of Mystique from X-Men as it’s almost the same exact color so there goes her name. :)

Well that sucketh much; two weeks ago I put a deposit on a Blue Crush Metallic TRD Sport DCSB 6MT with all of the packages. I'll need to ping my dealership to see if they've heard the same thing about the cessation of the BCM color. :(

Edit: I just talked with my dealer's sales associate and he said the information regarding the BCM color is incorrect, it is definitely still in production. Now, as we all know, information from dealership sales wonks is highly suspect at the best of times, so take this information for what it is. :p

I wish I saw this thread earlier but lucked out anyway.
1/11/22 placed deposit not exactly understand how the allocation process worked, was told to expect 4-6 month wait
2/21/22 got a call with allocation on exactly what I wanted
    3/13/22 expected build date
    TRD PRO Electric Lime 6mt
I'm hoping I get delivery sometime in April, we shall see

Well, now I’m glad I brought it up and you looked into it as well because if I hadn’t of already spoken to someone over the phone and saw the listing on their website before I went in I would have had no choice but to take the sales rep at their word and I would have left disappointed.

So maybe this will help others.

    Here’s to taco community teamwork!
