How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Got word that my truck arrived at the port today and now shows 1 mile on the odometer and tire pressure in the toyota app. No ETA yet when I check it out but it should be at the dealer in a week to 10 days. Since I am working out of the country at this time I wanted to make sure it was at the dealership before I fly in so I won't pick it up until 3/26.

 

Well just got a new low for dealerships with me, just got my deposit back three days before my truck is suppose to arrive with no word or conversation with me. Titus-Will Toyota turned out to be a terrible place to do business, with real shitty scruples after nine months of waiting. Sad because I have gotten a few vehicles from them in the past. They took no time to take advantage of the market. I'm sure it has to do with my salesman hurt his hip and has been out of work for a bit. The guy covering for him told me he had a guy lined up for the truck after me. So without saying anything dropped my order to leave him open to his sale vs take care of someone else's sale. I'm going to have a word with the manager, need to know if this is normal practice for this place.

So, no 2022 Pro for me. Will get the wife an brand new Lexus and look for a first gen Tacoma to have fun with. Also may talk with a few other dealers.

 

That is really unfortunate and awful to be treated like that. You need to put them on blast on Google reviews, e-mail their corporate contact, better business bureau and lastly - Toyota corporate. 9 months of waiting and the carpet being torn out from under your feet...unreal!

I do plan to send an email to Toyota, I just want to get their reasoning so I don't miss speak. Either way the truck is suppose to be here the 9th and they refunded my deposit on the 6th, just doesn't add up unless my guess is correct. The refund was without speaking to me, got a message from the bank. If my banking was not set up properly I would have shown up on the 9th to find out.

 

Agreed blew em up on social media. Pretty much the only way it hurts em.

 

Probably got more money out of the next guy. Dealers are all shady

 

Bosak Toyota in Porter, IN tried to sell me that "protection package" bs on a Taco I was looking at...they tack on $2495 for that crap. I walked out, told em stop calling me.

 

When you guys placed your $500 deposit, did they debit immediately? Or did they keep your card on file and debit later (i.e. when it was built, etc)

 

They charged my card the day I gave the deposit not the day it was built

 

We put a $500 deposit down last May. Temp vin # gave it a week 9 build. Dealer told us a 3/7 build date. Disappeared from the Vspec site on Friday 3/4. Temp vin # still shows in the app. The deposit money still hasn't left our account.

They pulled my funds immediately.

 

Pulled mine in about 2 days.

 

I recognize that dealership! I'll be there sometime soon...my temp VIN dropped off last week. Guess I have 5+ more weeks to wait.

 

If fuel prices keep rising and settle in at say over 6 bucks a gallon. Then Toyota comes out with a hybrid Tacoma that gets much better fuel mileage will that devalue our trucks we are getting now? I am concerned about the fuel prices and have had thoughts of pulling my deposit and waiting until this is over. This sucks

 

That is exactly the case, sales guy had someone lined up that said he would pay a 10 grand markup. So the sales guy lied to everyone and told them after waiting 9 months and three days before the truck is arriving I didn't want it. When I walked into the place, the sales guy ran out the side door. In the end the manager said that I would not have paid the mark up so there wasn't anything shady going on. So I explained the process from my end, made deposit, never heard from anyone for 8 months, can in to check on it and was told it's on the way, and then with no discussion with me my order was cancelled. The manager said yeah but you would not pay the mark up so we canceled and moved on to the next guy that would. End of story, I thanked them for their time and said I just wanted their side so I can email corporate Toyota and left. Titus-Will Toyota is full on a shifty dealer.

 

They pulled mine right away, and was fast giving it back so that is a bonus.

 

Once I got screwed by the dealer, we went to the Lexus dealer to order my wife an RX450 F Sport Hybrid. It should be here next month and no mark ups. As for me, I'll look for a first get tacoma for fun.

 

That could happen if the demand for the 3rd gens go down, there are a lot of them out there. Tacoma sales have gone down in volume, but there are probably less of them being built. They don't seem to be selling as fast, but even when I read that people are putting down deposits, I have seen the same trucks listed on dealers sites for weeks at a time.

Or the 3rd gens might become more popular as they become harder to get, once the 4th gen gets closer to market.
