Finally some good news. Truck was built 2/4, got VIN 2/5, then nothing. No eta, no activity in the app. But today, over a month after being built, we have 34 psi all around, a drop of gas in the tank, and 3 miles on the clock. Still no ETA, but extremely excited for some level of activity.

Yep, just noticed from last night to today, moved from 3/28 to 4/2. This is just horrible. What the hell?

My ETA has changed several times, but in each case it’s getting shorter not longer. Also my impression is that the webpage we have access to may not be as accurate or updated as often as what the dealers see.

    Where should I begin.... lol.

Ok, so the JBL is ok for my purposes, which is mostly to listen to podcasts. But, when I am out camping or just want to play some loud tunes, it is very underpowered. I have NEVER used the maps feature or much else. I do not talk on my phone (maybe 1 phone call per week). It DOES connect seamlessly with my samsung phone, though. I DO like that since all my podcasts come from there.

So, I looked into spending $1K or $1500 to get a new setup. Again, I just wanted something better for my occasional desire to throw out some tunes when camping and such. I spoke to several stereo people on here. The final revelation was that, based on the stock JBL system, the impedance and current amp, the stock system can't realistically be upgraded. So, the only thing I could do to get any real jump in the sound (and such) was to ditch the whole system and spend $3-4K on a new system.

However, if I had the stock NON JBL system, it is all totally different and can easily be upgraded for $1K or so.

So, it is ok for my purposes... since I am 50! But, if I were 25.. or 35... I would be pissed. I would probably spend the $3k-$4k and just be angry about wasting my $ when I purchased my taco.... I did NOT even want the JBL, all I wanted was the sunroof! But, to get the sunroof, you have to waste thousands on junk you don't want.... etc..

I had a Tacoma with stock non jbl system and found that to be fine. Is the jbl better than the stock system??

I was wondering this also about how accurate or up to date the info is using the webpage. The delivery date is 3/10-3/12 on the truck I'm waiting on and it's still showing "F" which I guess still can be the case.

Yes, the JBL is better than the regular system. Mostly, because there is a subwoofer.

However, that sub does take up some potential storage space behind your back seats. But, it does sound better.

I have the premium package as well but the 22' MT's didn't come with JBL so I upgraded just the speakers in the driver doors and dash tweeters, made a pretty big improvement for the low cost! I also sound deadened the front doors which might be part of it but that was only $40 more.

Interesting, I didn't know that; seems odd only slushbox drivers only need a boombox, those of us with three pedals under the dash, not so much. I wonder what Toyota's reasoning was to cut the JBL system out of MT equipped trucks.

Ya no idea but when I got it I noticed the JBL was missing and the dealer told me no JBL for MT, weird! We also don't get push button start which is getting old, I keep forgetting to pull my key out of my pocket when I get in!

Just had an update on my 22 TRD Sport. The ETA was posted. It could/should/might arrive between 4/1-4/6. Strangely enough, I was at work when my Apple Watch/Toyota App beeped and told me that multiple doors were open and it had 7 miles on it. Looks like my wait is almost over.

Anybody else who is waiting on their truck to arrive starting to get a bit of cold feet? Obviously nobody buys a Tacoma with MPG in mind, but I am starting to wonder if our trucks bought at MSRP+ are going to take a nosedive in value as gas prices continue to increase with no end in sight. Anybody want to talk some sense into me? Lol

Unfortunately, expect a dive in price sustained until the gas prices cool off. Trucks and SUVs with mediocre mileage always suffer first. The days of gaining value on trucks are over.
