VSPEC Site. My dealer is not great about giving updates, so I'm not going to waste any energy checking in with them, but from what I've seen VSPEC is only approximate at best, it's just comical how ever day the dates swing, which to me indicates the system has no real meaning as it is hard to believe circumstances would change so much in such a short period of time, like they don't have any slack in their delivery schedule

Yay!! Truck was suppose to be made March 9th, temp vin worked up until today! Dealer told me that the truck had to be loaded on a ship in Baja California, Mexico then take to San Diego or San Francisco then put on a train to Kansas City and finally picked up by truck and taken to dealer. Do they really put it on a ship for that short trip or does it go by train? I know the ship ports are already backed up like crazy, so I really hope not. 4DDD1F7E-8FF5-467B-B4E5-A2C5C3FE6119.jpg4DDD1F7E-8FF5-467B-B4E5-A2C5C3FE6119.jpg

Anyone ask for the dealer not to put on there dealership badge or sticker on your truck? I plan to but just wondering if I should expect pushback. Always thought it was dumb that they do that without asking permission.

I asked this too with no response. Thinking of sending the GM an email about it. He's actually been more helpful on ETA then sales woman.

When/If I get an order I will be sternly instructing the dealer to not touch the truck in anyway besides the required shop prep. I do not want it going through the filthy wash to get its first round of microswirls or any dealer badges. We are the ones shelling out the money for these trucks. They don't have the right to turn them into an advertising billboard unless they ask you. However the no wash instruction is the most important of all. If you care about your paint, remind them many times not to touch the truck once it arrives.

I hate those dealer stickers, simply ask them not to put on, tell them the can put on a license plate frame, and just remove when you get home.

OR, say sure put a sticker on and dealer can pay you for advertising.
Or be a dick, and let then put sticker on, and then add a sticker that says "sucks" after it.

Nah this is mainly just a curiosity and now I know that the ETA isn't reliable and it will be here "most likely" sometime in the next 3-4 weeks. That's all I need to know and fine with me, I'm not dying for the truck, my current vehicle is fine. I don't get why they bother putting in a range of dates that changes slightly vs. just putting in a larger range that doesn't.

Yeah I always ask for no dealer decals. I've done this on dozen new vehicles across many dealers and they have no issue with it. I usually tell them the license plate frame with their name is ok and they like that.

I've told the dealer not to do it and they had no quirms whatsoever. I tipped the car washer like $10 after I got to standby as the kid washed up the Mustang a few years back when I factory ordered it. 99% of people don't request that, so their free advertising is still effective.

My Dealer just called me to tell me it was done. Said they're sending the new vin over to me now. They are think about 3-4 weeks to get to them. I'm excited after my long search and thankful for this cold weather in march in Texas as my ac crapped out in January on my beater. Now if I can find a leer XR100 thats not 3-6 months out :(

On every vehicle I have ever purchased, I have asked this...and it's never been a problem. I just ask nicely, tell them it'll save them the time & a sticker, and it'll save me the time of removing it the second I get the car home.
