When you click on my garage at the top. There will be options to select. I dont remember exactly how to get to connected services, but I think at the bottom if you click connected services support it will prompt instructions for you to get started

another poster mentioned that he his My Garage wasn't active until about two weeks after he got his VIN. It's only been 8 days so I might be rushing the process a bit.

    Thanks for the help.

You can set up connected services immediately, but there's no guarantee that ture pressure mileage and fuel will show up right away. Pretty sure that will only happen after connected services are active AND your truck has been started and moved. Mine shows the last update for that info was March 8th. I signed up March 1st and it didn't show anything until the 8th and nothing new since then

Maybe if I ever get it.
So after the sales guy texts me to say my truck is built and on the way, I ask for the VIN. He says they don't get VINs until truck lands at the dealership. [sigh]

Mine said the same thing. So I checked their website and it had the real VIN.

Good idea. They don't list the VIN for "factory order" trucks shown on their site, but there's what appears to be a VIN in the URL, eg: 3tycz5an0nt000222 It shows invalid on the few sites (including Vehicle Specification | Toyota Owners) I tried. One site I tried said bad check digit (0). It wouldn't surprise me to learn they zero out the check digit in the URL, but I don't see why. Can people do something evil with a VIN?

When they are in allocation and not built yet they have a TEMP VIN. Once production has started they get their permanent VIN. That VIN should appear on the dealers website once it shows up. MOST of the time. And yes they have the VIN long before it shows up at their lot. He was lying to you. Don’t be surprised if your truck shows up on the dealers site as “IN TRANSIT, CHECK FOR AVAILABILITY” They do that to get people to call or come to the dealership. Especially now with such low inventory.

It may also depend on how many other vehicles they have waiting to be delivered from port. IE: Tundras, Camrys, Rav4s. I’ve heard that they don’t want to send out call carrier’s that are not full.

I had an 'order' in at 4 different local dealerships, all for MSRP. Very specific build - DCLB TRDOR Auto with Premium OR and Advanced Tech. I had a color preference and 2 colors that were an absolute no. I put those 'orders' in back in September, after driving a Bronco in Moab for a day and realizing I just want to replace my 2009 Tacoma with a new one.

Radio silence from all dealers, they were getting very few Tacoma's at all, let alone my model (7568) so I made a deal with all my salespeople - $500 cash to whoever got me my truck first. That worked, one salesman told me that a local dealer I wasn't working with had the truck I wanted in allocation but not reserved. 1 call later I had the build sheet and indeed, it was what I wanted. That was in mid-December.

I had my truck in hand by Jan 19th. MSRP out the door, paid cash. I'm in the Denver area.
