Yay! My truck landed in Kansas over the weekend. Projected day moved from 3/29-4/4 to 3/28-4/4. I just spoke with dealer and they said it shows 24th as delivery date to them but they have been waiting for another vehicle for about 8/9 days from same train yard. Hopefully now that more are showing up the truck carrier will be able to fill a load and pick them up. Still waiting to buy my ticket last minute to fly out. Does anyone know of a cheapest place to buy last minute ticket? I haven’t flown much in my lifetime, and last flight I took was before 9/11 until last summer when i flew to Lake Tahoe and that ticket was more than i expected :(

Check with Allegiant Airlines. They are typically the cheapest route but they don't fly from and to places on a regular basis like the other major airlines do. Good luck and post some pic's here when you get your truck!

For those of you who received your trucks already, did you get what you wanted or did you have to compromise according to what was allocated to the dealer? I submitted an order on March 10th for an OR DCLB in Army Green. Just trying to get a sense for whether I should start preparing myself to accept something different.

IMO and what I have seen and read I would say 30% get exactly what they wanted and the rest didn’t settle but didn’t get a couple things on their list of wants. Me personally didn’t get exactly what I wanted BUT it wasn’t a deal breaker. I didn’t get the led lights and tech package. In hindsight I am glad I didn’t get the tech but am disappointed I didn’t get the leds just because of the price they want to change them out compared to what they cost as a factory option.

    3/3 got my allocation.
It looks like the build date was back on 02/12/22. It left the factory on 03/02/22, I think. Arrived off of the rail at the logistics park on 03/13/22.

    Told expected dealership delivery 3/19-3/23
    3/21-3/23 first pushed date
    3/25-3/27 second pushed date
Told its been sitting at thr logistics park, waiting to be picked up by truck for dealership delivery.
    Pushed again this am 3/28-3/30...

Sales rep thinks it's due to increasing diesel costs....

    How much more.....

It’s not an order system, you can wait or you can compromise. I compromised on something with an additional package.

Patience is a virtue. I'm not sure why people are settling for something less than what they want since they paid high dollars for their Tacomas.

I had looked into two trucks. One I found on dealer website, the other through inventory search in region. Both were not built yet and the folks I spoke to agreed to remove add ons/change options without issue. The first dealer then added a market adjustment and packages. Ended up passing on that one as I found a preferred one and a local dealership was able to trade for it, removed things I didn't want and no mark ups.

Everyone's circumstances are different. In my case, I'm driving around in a vehicle my company rented for me after I relocated home to the US. I won't have the rental forever. Hopefully I'll score the exact configuration of Tacoma that I want. But there are certain things I'd compromise on like color depending on how that impacted the wait time. That's why I was interested in hearing the experiences of others on this thread.

Funny I told my dealer I absolutely did NOT want predator steps and they still put them on at port, so now they have to take them off and credit me. If they would actually care about customer preferences at port this type of thing could be avoided.

Will a dealer actually take accessories off after they've been installed at port? Because I'd love it if I could have them remove predator steps and mudguards so i can buy sliders instead lol

My dealer told me they would remove them and credit me for the tube steps. I believe they just bolt on so should be easy to remove. I also got stuck with those stupid door edge guards, they were $140 waste of money, I'm eating those and will pull them off when I get home.

I guess it depends on the dealer. Some realize they have a lot of leverage and maybe don't care if you'll return, so they might fight you on everything. Mine knows I'm a repeat customer and I'm meeting them in the middle about the door edge guards. Plus, they'll just put the steps on another vehicle and make it all back.

Gotchya, well I guess we'll see how my dealer handles it next week when my truck comes in. I'm more worried about my truck delivery being pushed back than I am about removing the steps and mudguards since those are the only things added to it

I can tell you that the company my dad works for, Jack Cooper the largest auto carrier in the country, lost the contract of Toyota out of Kansas City due to being undercut by a non union company. That might be the reason for delays. I was gonna have my dad bring my truck back to Texas as his company allows for personal vehicle transport but I don’t wanna wait for them to be in the area to pick it up so I’m gonna grab a flight.
