Dang, that must be frustrating. Mine just changed AGAIN back to 4/2 - 4/7. It’s getting humorous.

Currently have an ETA of 4/5 to 4/11. When I spoke to my salesmen last Wed, he said the truck was in Kansas on a train headed to Port Newark NJ. That's about 40 miles north of me. So I think I see light at the end of the tunnel. Fingers crossed.

Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Is that the one you were thinking of?

If you can strike a good deal on the extended warranty, it will cover things like that.
I wasn’t worried about the engine, tranny, etc. (all the stuff that we know is bullet proof on a Tacoma), but I was worried about the touch screen, nav. system, etc. To replace that, and the “computer” that sits in the dash behind it is somewhere in the neighborhood of $5-7K.
I got an extended warranty out to 10yrs./100,000K miles with $0 deductible for $1233 and figured that was too good to pass up. If you’re thinking about doing that, make sure you ask the dealer who they are writing their extended service contracts with….it varies from dealer to dealer.
I’ve never, ever bought an extended warranty on anything in my life, but had your same concerns.

That is gonna be a sweet truck! I was originally hoping for the exact truck and then a pro fell in my lap and I pounced on it because I was tired of waiting for a blue sport. Enjoy!

I put money down on a very similar truck in February, TRD Sport 4x4, DCSB, TRD Premium, manual transmission, Advanced Tech in Blue Crush Metallic; my dealership said six to eight months, maybe never. :)

Spoke with a large volume Toyota dealer whom I was referred to by another member. The saleslady did some further explaining about the "order system" and Toyotas allocation process. Basically they submit an order to Toyota for a customer build and if a truck that's close to the customer's spec, they'll send that truck to the dealer with the bi-monthly allocation information. So whoever or which computer program is choosing the build configurations, it all depends on that apparently.
