I'm working with two dealerships in two different states, and both have said the same recently. Sucks.

THAT is possible. Though the Tundra is now built on a different platform TNGA -F and it's "ALL NEW" They might still share some small components. They might have discovered an issue somewhere along they way.

Yep. “All New” is a design term. Still uses the same nuts, bolts, wire, etc., plus the cloth, glass, plastic, metal, and fluid suppliers. Not to mention machinery parts. One hiccup in any of that can wreak havoc. Hopefully whatever issues are resolved soon.

What line of "code" should the information be on? I followed the directions above but get a screen of about 3000lines of stuff/coding info but nothing with the summary that folks post with the truck information. Several folders on the left, "v-spec" is highlighted. Is it in another?

Just tried it again and noticed the top highlighted topic was "Source". Seems to default to that after hitting the Ctrl R. Nothing on the page with the "fetch/XHR" highlighted.

There should be a tab called Network. Hit Ctrl R there. Then click the one that matches your VIN

100% agree. It might also be the term "HOLD" could me a hold off on any NEW orders of both trucks. They might have over allocated meaning they don't have enough parts to go around at the moment, or this is part of the scale back Toyota has been talking about.
Or it's just a dealer not knowing what's going on and just pulled this idea out of thin air. They have been know to do this. VW dealer did that to me years ago with my 2012 Beetle Turbo I had on order. He said it was in transit Wolfsburg Germany. Turns out the salesmen was new and had no idea that the car came from Mexico and not Germany. The car had been held up because Hurricane Sandy was going up the coast at the time. The car ended up being moved to keep it away from Port Newark during the Hurricane and they couldn't locate it.
This may sound selfish, but those of us who's trucks have made it to port or are on trains MAY not be effected. The sales manager at my dealership told me the orders on Corollas and 4Runners have been suspended because of the earthquake in Japan.

I was just wondering, all of you folks on the east coast who are waiting for your trucks, do they arrive by ship and if so what port? Or do they haul them all the way by rail from the southwest? I'm in NW Indiana, and I just got an update on my Taco...says he should have a VIN for me tomorrow. Just for comparison, I ordered it on 1/23, and hope to get my hands on it in a couple weeks. I'm getting a plain vanilla SR5 V6 4WD 4DR with no special options, so I'm hoping it'll pop up soon. Congrats to all of you have gotten your trucks, and I get a kick out of it when one of you announces the arrival of yours! I'll probably ask for help with tracking it as us older guys aren't all that savvy with this newfangled interweb voodoo. Rock on, guys!:headbang:

I’m not all the way on the east coast, just in East Tennessee (Knoxville) so mine will supposedly be on a train through San Diego to Memphis then onto a truck. Not sure how regional that is or if other east coast trucks go further on a train.

According to my dealer. My TRD Sport somehow by train, truck or ship ended up in San Diego from BAJA CALIF, MEXICO
Then it boarded a train to the east coast. It was last seen in Kansas or Kansas City. I can't recall which one he said. It's headed to Port Newark in N.J. where it will then be "finished" with port options and then
put on a carrier to the dealer.
This Truck has seen more of America that I have.

I’m in CT and that is my understanding as well. Not sure how it got to San Diego, but train from there and truck from NJ. Mine was built 2/4 and is currently showing an eta of 4/8-4/13.

has the truck been built yet? Mine was built on 3/9, and my ETA is 4/20-4/25 for comparison.

You have to remember, your truck, although special to you, is just a package to everyone else involved. If Toyota or the shipping company can save 5$ by sending around the world 3 times, that's what they will do.

No worries there, I fully appreciate that my truck isn’t special to anyone else and will arrive when it arrives. I was just adding another east coast data point following Hoagie8’s question.

Truck was supposed to arrive by today 3/30-4/1, but, ETA disappeared yesterday and dealer category went back to A from F. Dealer told me that there is a delay and will reach out to the Toyota rep to get more info. I'm in MA, buying at a dealer in NH. 6MT DCSB OR.

I did notice that yesterday the milage in the app went up by one mile, so it's moving at least...

Started talking to dealer in late January. Let the dealership know what I wanted. They coincidentally got told they would gt an allocation for that color and package Feb 3 with a build start of Feb 28.
Delayed and Started on March 8, notified March 18th that it would arrive April 27-May2.
Notified today that it is expected April 15-20 and got a final VIN.

    Allocation: Feb 3 ; Build March 8 ; Expected Delivery April 15-20.

My VSPEC ETA now seems to be pretty stable at 4/4 - 4/9. Dealer texted me ETA 4/10. Thinking maybe they're adding a day to the latest estimate to set meetable expectations, but not sure. Seems like once the ETA range gets down to like 2-3 day window, people here seem to get theirs in the first day of that window.

Kinda hoping it's 4/5 so I can have alll day Monday to shop credit union rates. Travelling a state away to get it, but boss already knows I'm logging off the second I get a call from the dealer.
