    Here is my timeline.
Talked to dealer mid Feb. Placed $500 on a 2022 Barcelona Red Tacoma SR5 4X4 access cab. Build date was week 9. Real VIN showed up 3/2/22. Toyota app installed 3/23/22 and showed 3 miles and an 1/8 of a tank of gas with 39-40 PSI in the tires. Vspec showed ETA 4/4-4/9. And then 3/31 the ETA moved to 4/4-4/6, miles went up to 5 and tire pressure reduced to 34 PSI. It is so close now I can almost smell the new car smell.

Still waiting for a call. Seems like it took longer to go from the dealers "depot" to the lot than it took to go from Mexico to the depot. So close, yet so far away. No app changes since 3/30, 11 miles, full tank. Truck dropped off VSpec last night.

Hooley, somehow my chrome won't show the site to me. Think you can pull it up for me from the VSpec page?

It’s not on VSpec. If you’re near your ETA it might be in your possession soon. I believe it gets pulled once the truck has been received by the dealer in some form. I’m not 100% sure of that, but I’ve seen a few peoples get pulled around the time they take delivery.

Mine has no VSpec anymore, my ETA was 3/29-3/31, it’s definitely in the area somewhere.

I called up my sales person to inquire about my deposit, still no allocation and we're coming up on month 3.

My deposit was for a TRD Sport with the Premium Sport Package, Advanced Tech Package, LED Headlights, 5ft bed, Automatic in Blue Crush.

Looked at the dealership inventory and they just sold a Pearl White TRD Sport that was the exact same spec but with a 6 foot bed.
Sales person says that they should have their new allocations in order on the 4th or 5th, so going to make some sacrifices to the auto gods over the weekend that mine comes through.

Mine got pushed back again to 4/24-4/29. Once per week, as soon as it is three weeks out, it gets pushed back another week. This has been happening for 6 weeks.

They are giving me too much time and too many opportunities to reconsider...

I would have thought with $1,000 down already my sales guy would have rung me up to let me know they had something that was mostly there in stock. I've not been too thrilled with this sales agent. I mentioned some of the things that have been discussed in this thread like opening up some of the options and he was "Oh sure, that could work" but never once mentioned it when I was putting in the request in the first place.

Nope, that’s about 45 miles north of me. Wrong color, wrong trim. :0)

I often wonder if there is deal making in the side like “yeah dude heres $100 I’ll throw you another hundred if you move me to the front of the line”. Could just be my masshole upbringing but I never trust or count on anyone. I don't want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me

So, finally picked up my SR 4x4 V6 yesterday. It was 100+ miles/2 hrs one way. I did enjoy my ride home.

So, here is my first impression on this truck... it is my first truck ever and it's base model. I can compare with recent cars/suvs that I had owned but not with other trucks/trims as I never owned one. Sold my 2020 Civic lx and 2003 Sequoia to buy this truck. I also have 3rd gen 4runner purposely built for camping and trail runs.

    1. Truck rides much better than my expectation. Absorb bumps much better as compare to what I recently owned.
    2. Driver seat is bit firm for my liking maybe it will go soft over time or I will get used to it.
    3. View of road/traffic/surrounding is much better as compare to my old/current cars/SUVs.
    4. Why they did not provide grab handle on Driver Side!!!
    5. Audio system is also better than my expectations.
    6. Glove box door feel bit flimsy.
    7. Small led light under the middle dashboard/storage section is helpful.
    8. For sure need some running board for kid and wife. It's a tall vehicle.
    9. Like that most of plastic trim pieces on door and dash are already black.
    10. Gray leather/vinyl(!?) trim on doors looks and feels much better than what I was expecting. I had gray cloth door trim on my old 15 accord and they were very hard to clean/keep clean. This gray is much darker and should clean easily.
    11. Key fobs are okay.
    12. I knew about it but man this truck does not accelerate well after complete stop. It like, it's having hard time accelerating. But once it reach around/above 40/50 mphs it drive very smooth and accelerate just fine.
    13. So many cup holders. Will be very helpful for long trips.

Now wait is over... it's time to enjoy new truck and learn all about this truck. This will be my DD so will stay stock mostly.

Thank you everyone for sharing your journey and support. TW is great community and all the information was very help during each buying phase.

All the best to everyone who is waiting. Hopefully, you will get your truck soon and will be able to enjoy your new rides too.

And here is my 3rd Gen 4runner.

    Hello all,
I put down my deposit on an already allocated TRD Offroad on February 16th. The original eta was March 30th. I was notified a week ago that it was running a few days behind schedule, then on Wednesday this week I was told by the inventory manager it was already on a carrier and would be at the dealership March 30th or April 1st. This morning I am told by my salesman that it is still waiting in Florida to be picked up by the carrier. Is anyone else having such contradictory information? The salesman also mentioned that Toyota would email me in some fashion when it is on the carrier on it's way to the dealer. Is that true?
