There's always a possibility! I've seen guys that got lucky and had their truck 2 weeks after they placed a deposit. I hope your taco comes just in time :fingerscrossed:

Found this map on Pacific Union's site showing their automotive distribution railroads. Obviously, whether this is relevant to someones specifics would depend on where they are located and whether their truck was built at TMMBC or TMMGT. But for those of us living out West, with trucks built in Baja California and who are within logical range of these lines - I think it sheds some light on where your truck will end up being picked up for it's final leg of the journey, after taking it's trainride from the Long Beach port to your general region.

    https://www.up.com/customers/premium/facility_profiles/index.htm

I found this video very intereresting. Helps shed some light on the entire process and how complicated it is.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pH0oafZKiDY

Lastly, for those of you not out west, this document can probably help you deduce the most likely automotive distribution yard your truck is bound for:

https://aar.com/standards/pdfs/2019 AAR Terminal Guide Master 1.1.19.pdf

So now I've kind of taken this all in and made an educated guess that I think my truck may be at it's distribution site, but still in it's rail car. Thinking the next time the app updates that will indicate it was turned on to be driving out of the rail car. From there, hopefully I will have it in a day or two. ETA still shwoing 4/4-4/9. Dealer says 4/10 but I think they're being safe.

    Yeah, like I said.
    I like Grappone two.
They just didn’t have what I wanted and said they weren’t ordering anything at this time.
I got the same feeling in Manchester.

The wait is over...No it's not....F*ck! It's at the dealer, but they won't give it up until Thursday. Wifey works Thursday and Friday, so 1 more week until possession.

Hmmm, my impression is there isn't a Toyota dealership in the Continental 48 States which can "order" a specific vehicle. Are you telling me you found a dealership in New Hampshire which can execute a factory order?

Sorry, I meant “Allocate” when I asked about putting in an allocation for a specific vehicle I was told by the sales person “ we aren’t putting in any orders for Tacoma’s at this time”
I’m sure she meant allocation but mis spoke.
I’ve heard people do this a lot….I understand they are different things but people do it.

I put together a build on the Toyota website.
TDR Sport in AG with the top premium package, a lot of accessories and a factory lift kit. And sent it in to Grapponie
The sales person got right back to me and said. “we don’t have anything like that at this time (I knew that already)
She said “we have a white SR5 coming in if your interested but that’s it and we aren’t taking orders for Tacomas at this time”
So I said thank you but I’m not interested in that.
That was pretty much the conversation.

I am currently waiting to hear if my “allocation” at a different dealership has been accept or not.
    Is accepted the right word?
I signed the papers and left my deposit a week ago (feels like a month ago)
Was told I’d hear back in a few weeks…
I have to say I think the whole process sucks and I can’t wait until it’s over with.

Semantics aside order - allocate - beg them to take my money etc…
It shouldn’t be this stressful….I think the worlds problems are real enough I also think we’re all being taken advantage of because of it all…

Agreed, my wife and I have been spoiled by the "Domestics", BMW, VW, and Mazda, as we've "special ordered" all but one of our new cars since 1985, and that was only because I needed a new car that day and didn't have the luxury of waiting around for a few months. I really don't understand Toyota's logic when it comes to new vehicle ordering, I mean, what's the point of a "Build" button on their web site? Maybe they should redo the site and put a, "Let us tell you what you can have, like it or don't" button in place of the "Build" button.

They want to leave it on the lot for a week to see if someone will give them $7k above sticker first. Lol. Beautiful truck!! Waiting for my Lunar Rock Off Rd. Been a little less than a month since deposit so I have a way to go yet.

Haha. Nope. It's its, so it can be displayed out front, so people will come inside and ask to buy it... Enjoy it when you get it next week.
