The way I see it a little mark up is perfectly fine. Again its a suggest value, and unlile the groceries you buy they can't reduce what theyre giving you to charge the same price. If they use to sell 30 new cars a month but only get 5-10 a month to sell now then they really aren't making the same money they use to. I was against markup at first until I realized how hard it was in this market to get exactly what you want. I gladly paid the 3k my dealer asked to get my exact truck and to not have to wait more than 2 months or make another 50 calls a week trying to find an allocation of what I wanted.

A little markup I’m okay with. It’s the massive markups I have a problem with. but again… people apparently are willing to pay it so I guess that really is market value…

that it was!! And to make my anxiety worse the place was delay 3 separate times end up being 2 hours late so I didn't get back to texas until 1am after getting up at 4:30am and not sleeping very much do to excitement haha. Very happy with the whole thing tho. I don't think I'll ever buy another ford or chevy in my life time. Unless its a sports car, the toyota just feels so much better inside.

It's kind of a myth, at least for Tacomas, that they are getting less trucks to sell. Google production and sales figures of Tacoma - they've increased every year, including every year since the beginning of the pandemic. Toyota was late to be affected by chip shortages and has still managed to increase production.

There is an increased demand, and that is what is allowing dealers to squeeze people. They're selling just as many trucks (more), and even MSRP would be more than they are used to getting. They should be happy with MSRP. Not gouging.

Plus, F&I are more profitable than they have ever been. Toyota dealerships are making a killing, the cars are selling themselves.

Put in an order yesterday for a dual cab TRD OR in AG with a 6-speed manual and premium package. Not sure how long I will be waiting, but figured I'd join all you in here until the day comes...

did you choose a color? those seem to be like unicorns around here. I would definitly suggest reading more of this thread and see that most of us put in request and deposits at multiple dealers to secure our trucks. Either way good luck, and I hope you get your truck built! I just took delivery after a 5 month process of looking and putting my name in many hats. Its definitely doable!

I tried yours & got "the page you are looking for is not found". Could this mean it's already been built & it has a real VIN now?

Picked Army Green. Been working backwards through this thread, going through multiple dealers sounds like a good strategy.

There is a used TRD Pro Army Green in a manual for sale right now but it'd be over $10k more than what I'd be paying through my order...decisions...

It’s pretty easy…. If you don’t like the way they do business then move on. If you don’t like the way toyota does it then move on. Pretty simple. JMO
