I would say yes that is unusual. Your dealer has access to an inventory database which has the permanent VIN along with a delivery timeline.

I haven’t updated my Toyota app. Seems like mixed reviews out there. Do y’all recommend the update? I’m curious if my app will show tire pressure since I just have the SR.

I was afraid of that. So you think they're pulling my chain? They said the truck is built, and they're waiting for it flip from "A" to "F".

Where are you seeing the mileage? Maybe I’m too early to expect to even see that field? Mine is still a temporary VIN but I don’t even see a place where mileage or tire pressure would populate.

Yes, they are pulling your chain. They know the permanent VIN. They have an Inventory Management software that shows the VIN, ETAs, etc… it’s packed full of details including build date, processing date, rail departure, rail arrival, on truck for delivery, and arrival at dealership. They are purposely withholding this info from you.

Edit: I knew my permanent VIN when it was still “Dealer Category: A”

My dealer has never showed my truck on its site, I guess they are breaking the rules.

Just an fyi but my truck never showed miles or tire pressure on the app and the dealer never had my truck on its website.
But my salesman was awesome and kept me up to date at every step. I feel for the guys waiting. It was a tough process but damn well worth it. I love love love my truck.

That's a temp VIN, you probably need the real VIN for the app to work.

That makes sense. Honestly, I was surprised it let me add it as my truck with a temp vin but it does show all the options that are going to be installed and all that.
