Anyone getting crazy over sticker prices on TRD Pro orders? Mine is coming in and now dealer is wanting like $10k over MSRP. They say if I don’t take it they’ll list for $15k over and get it. Original agreement last summer was MSRP sales price. Just wanted to see if others are getting screwed.

Just move along to an MSRP dealer/ or a different brand. People need to speak with their wallets at this point.

I waited almost a year for it so that’s the hard part. Moving dealers will delay order for a very long time that is if you can find an MSRP dealer and they even will get an allocation. Truck is built and getting delivered. So it’s pick this or give up on a trd pro for the foreseeable future. Just seeing if others found a dealer selling at MSRP or this is getting standard for the bait and switch.

Did you have any sort of agreement on price or have a deposit or anything?

Verbal agreement. Yes I know my fault. Have history working in the business and knew the managers at store. Never been an issue before bc of industry connections. Have a ‘19 TRD Pro 4Runner got $500 over invoice (if you can believe that now!). Didn’t expect this turnaround / massive price increase which is why asking around.

What state are you in? Most pros were going over msrp prepandemic. 5k was the usual here in AZ. We have one dealer that sells at msrp here but you’ll be on a long long list. Another claims to but then adds about 3k of garbage and they don’t have anything either. I have no problem with 5k or below on a pro they hold value ridiculously well. Anything over that’s a pass. I paid 4K adm on mine but it’s exactly what I wanted and no other adds and a 3 minute deal.

10k over MSRP…. i would personally never be able to feel happy about a truck if i paid that, but everyone’s different. I’d go buy a full size loaded truck for that kind of money.

Wow, that is a horrible dealer. Not telling you what to do, but if you decide to move on and find another dealer, make sure you got o Google reviews and rate them and put your story there for everyone else to see how $h!tty they are.

man, 15k over msrp. I guess they are right, somebody will probably buy it but damn they would have to bring 20k in cash just to finance at 100%

FMV is probably higher than that. Used trucks are going for more than new. The supply issues are only going to get worse.

    2020 SR5s are listed for $45k

The supply issues aren’t only going to get worse, there are already signs of life in the chip industry. Give it another 6 months - year and there will be much more inventory around.

I was happy to find a dealer who was charging 1k markup and able to get me what I was looking for in less than a months time, and straight up with me about the pricing. Any other dealer was waiting far longer at MSRP (only 1 dealer), far more markup, or completely dishonest. One dealer told me they didn't markup over MSRP, and when I called to put in a deposit the price was almost 5k higher because the vehicle price is MSRP, but all vehicles are sold with a mandatory "special paint and fabric protective coating" with an insurance plan incase the dashboard cracks in 5 years.... Their lies lost my business. I found a better truck a few days later anyway.

My dealer made it perfectly clear to me from the beginning and I quote "...we do not charge a cent over MSRP". I was extremely happy with hearing that, and they did not take a deposit either. This is why I will be going right back to them next year when we buy my wife's Venza.

On a different note, my app is now showing 12 miles (previously 4) and a full tank of gas...

Forgot to check the app.. truck did update this morning, still only 2mi on odo and empty gas, all tires dropped 2 psi (32-33), but going to category "G" has got me excited, now I just have to wait for the call and then find someone to give me a ride to pick it up (sold my old car privately, not as trade in).

Got the call. IT'S HERE! It's going on the lift for the TRD lift kit upgrade and grill, Bronze TRD wheels, Baja tires and running boards. I should be picking her up early next week.

I also told him to heat gun that dealership decal/sticker right out! lol
