I drove to the dealership this morning. As I was approaching I saw a car carrier coming in the opposite direction with it signal light on. Man I got excited, two tacomas on it but no Lunar Rock. Driver said he will be back on wednesday, maybe then.

Does anybody know if a car carrier usually hits multiple dealers en route or all the same one?

Speaking of carriers, I saw one on 287N in Jersey near Morristown with 5 Tacomas on it. I’ve never been so excited to see one of those carriers until now since I’m waiting on a Tacoma. Sadly it was going the opposite direction of the dealership I have a deposit with. But maybe it has some of your guys’ trucks!

This guy was droping off a couple cars at my dealer and then heading to another dealer 100kms away.

Aside from a dealer adjustment, have any of you heard the MANDATORY exterior/interior protection fee being $3,990?

One of the dealers I'm working with is dictating a mandatory ResistAll treatment for $1299 (ridiculous ripoff - i know) but no market adjust; so I'm thinking of it as a market adjust. $4K sounds pretty extreme if it's a similar treatment.

are these on your spec sheets or build sheets, or is this a surprise when you go in to pick up your truck?

The first dealership I’ve been working with has it on the spec sheet as a $1,595 protection package, and informed me of a $1,500 adjustment on top of that.

I found the same truck at a second dealership, so I called to see what their deal was: they told me they proudly don’t add an adjustment and then sent me the spec sheet withOUT the $3,990 protection package, and said no fees besides the regular tax, title etc. So I went in to leave a deposit (since they don’t do it over the phone) and they dropped that mandatory package into the mix. Efff that.

good for you. I'm so excited that my truck should be in around a week or so from now and I'm just praying they don't do something like that to sour the deal.

I'm already paying for about 3 grand in options I didn't want so that ought to be enough :)

Carriers are super efficient, there is no other rhyme or reason. they will deliver what they have in que to what ever locations makes the most sense cost wise.

Finally took delivery! Hang in there everyone, so worth the wait. And if you are in the CT area, I cannot speak highly enough of Torrington Toyota. They were at MSRP and there were no games. I was in and out in an hour or so. Wonderful experience all around.

Lol I drove the autopista from queretaro to mexico city about 2 years ago, it was just camion after camion loaded with 5-6 tacomas (I forget how many). Like I saw over a dozen carriers loaded on the 2.5 hour drive.

Just found out my truck build date is 4/19 (week 12 Vin). Dealer is still stating delivery date 4/28 - 5/7. I am located in Northern CA so its not too far from the San Diego Port, but still seems a bit optimistic.

Do you have anything extra to be applied in the factory? ie: tech package, LED package, TRD Premium package?
Just trying to guage when my week 13 could be built.

Yeah a dealer here tried that with me. Specifically, it was Bosak Toyota in Porter, IN.

I have an ETA of 4/15 - 4/17 on my SR5 DCSB 4x4 V6 Auto. Mid-day today tire pressures changed again, mileage went from 3 to 4 and category status went from "F" to "G". I am hoping the Easter Bunny has a special delivery for me this Easter weekend!
