The dealer can absolutely give you more info. Ask your salesman for this level of info in the Toyota portal that they have access to. Just be mindful, I’m cautious about being too bothersome. It could translate to shitty sales tactics if they think you’re too thirsty for a new truck.

Yeah, doesn't make it get here any faster, just get more anxious about it. I've got a sales manager signed price @ MSRP with what I didn't want removed and they didn't ask for a deposit. Should be good. They said it was allocated in my name and didn't seem concerned if I backed out. It's a TRD OR AC so doubt they'd have a problem selling if I did. We'll see. One week...

I disagree, There isn't anything else like the Tacoma. It might sway "non brand loyal" customers, but Toyota could easily flourish on there loyal customers. Toyota would really have to start epically fucking up for me to even consider another brand. The harder they are to get the more the value will rise, supply and demand.

Also I might add, Rangers suck and the Maverick is a Joke. The Bronco is pretty bad ass but not in the same class. Other auto makers have attacked the Toyota Tacoma on a stats basis and they are missing the whole picture. The Tacoma we have now is the result of years of refinement. anyone can make a truck pull more, make it faster, etc. Its always easy to look at the leader and improve on a couple of stats. Its a whole other story to do what Toyota did.

You’re discussing the short term market trends of them “making too much money”…. That’s short term thinking. Are we really debating these manufacturers are happy with less production/sales ? That’s the new bar? Highly highly doubtful.

Actually Toyota said themselves they would be at 30 day supply. Toyota uses kaizen continuous improvement this is improvement at least to them. I’m just repeating what Toyota said. 30 days that’s it. https://www.autonews.com/video/firs...ly-dealership-lots-when-output-returns-normal

Manufactures are not making more money. I wouldn't think the dealer invoice price has gone up with the market.

Prior to this they were at 45 days? What’s the point? There were tacomas flooded on lots @ 45 day supply

There are much better midsize trucks on the market. Toyota builds one. It's called the Hilux.

Could the Tacoma realistically compete with the global market trucks from the competition Isuzu, Nissan, Mitusbishi, Mazda? No, because those trucks have to try and keep up with the Hilux.

21 day supply to 30 is like 45% more trucks… not exactly a small amount. Just wait… you think we saw the tipping point on gas prices yet? Wait for summer travel months…. Quite a few people going to be seconds guessing their mid size tacoma. That’s why resale is dropping on tacomas while gas savers are flying up. Production will eventually catch up, then the flood will begin.

45 to 30 days is 15 days less supply so even bigger drop. So that dog won’t hunt.

I mean… financing Tacoma at 3% vs someone else at 8%… may not be much of a reason not to stick with the taco

yes, and clearly they were flooding too many- i can see them trying to get leaner. Every Toyota dealer across the country had multiple tacomas on the lot at any point in time. If they want to get lean? Sure… but they will have enough for sales - were in a market shortage right now it’s causing every manufacturer to be at MSRP or above this is not tacoma specific. Unless you truly think manufacturers are just going to grenade their dealers long term?

Probably transferring them fron a dealer charging market adjustments to a dealer who isn't.

I'd take a new Tacoma for MSRP @ 0% APR and a $2500 rebate. That still isn't a fantastic deal.
