Hey, thanks! What a cool way to think of it. I'll feel better once they give me a perma VIN. Seems odd that they know it was built but do not yet have this. Go figure.

    Progress! It's 'F' now!

Tire pressures and mileage haven't updated in 5 days, but I'll definitely trust v-spec over the app.

My dealer called today! I got an allocation for a TRD Sport. It won't come with the advanced tech package (so no blind spot monitors) but I'm not sure how necessary that really is. What kind of packages did y'all consider to be non-negotiable?

I wanted absolutely no options other than MT on a TRD OR. I was lucky to find a dealer with an allocated truck with only all weather mats and LED lights as options. That was as stripped down as I could find within 200 miles without waiting months for a truck that might never materialize.

In my case I live in/near a tourist town with a lot of foot traffic so the blind spot monitors are pretty much a must.

Whatever package comes with the moonroof. I love a moon roof especially in a truck.

Blind spot monitoring is more for cars than pedestrians. Not really a necessity, but once you got it, you wouldn’t go back.

JFC. I am at my wits-fucking-end here. Can we stop with the "rumors" that no more manuals are being built? Does anyone have any solid proof? Has anyone spoke with someone in Toyota Corporate regarding the alleged manual transmission stoppage?

I have recent confirmation (yesterday) with my dealer that a shit-ton of manuals they have ordered to be built (50+ sports and off roads) are still confirmed for May/June builds...Is he lying to me? I highly doubt it, but who knows. As I have said before, you can only trust your local dealership as far as you can throw them...

For fucks sake, if you don't have solid confirmation please stop posting that manual transmissions are not going to be built for the rest of 2022.

Where are the Toyota folks to confirm/deny this rumor? I know there are some on here...

My dealer told me that Toyota is switching to a hovercraft version with no transmission. I think he’s lying to me though…….

Priceless. I'm fucking beside myself with awe/disbelief at this point. I could go on with colorful uses of the word fuck, but I will not. :D

Edit: just realized that a hovercraft no trans Tacoma would be pretty fucking sweet..Bravo Zulu my friend. You are definitely on to something there! You win the prize for Tacoma innovation since they are stopping all manual transmission production (allegedly).

I’m right there with you wrt everything that we all hear about Toyota’s intentions (or unintentions) regarding MT’s….I’ll expect some royalty money when Toyota implements this idea since, as you said, they troll TW for ideas and feedback.

My dealer told me they were going to still make manuals but they were all going to be electric. I asked him to make sure and when he returned from the sales manager’s desk an hour later he confirmed it. My coffee was cold but I got this scoop for my bros on TW. :bananadance:
