I am after an Army Green TRD Sport, 5 foot bed, AT, with LED headlights and tech package (or advanced package). My dealer is having trouble ordering this... Anyone have any advice on what I can do? I'd really like Army Green and LED headlights, 5 foot bed and AT are also a must, but the other options I can flex on. I would even be willing to go Limited or TRD Off Road if need be...

The KISS spreadsheet and calling around are your best bet. After a few months waiting on my dealer, I just started checking daily for builds I was comfortable with. Took a week or two, but I eventually found exactly what I wanted.

There's probably a much better explanation than this elsewhere, but if you look under the "Commit" heading after a daily refresh, you'll see that it pulls in data daily. I believe this is aggregating stock updates from Toyota to various dealers.

The 'Dealer' category has a series of numeric codes. You can go to https://www.toyota.com/dealers/ and enter your info. When a dealer pops up along the left, mouse over or copy the link and paste it into your URL bar. You'll see a 5-digit number. This corresponds to those numeric codes under dealer. I found that most of my local dealers were around 45000-46000, so I just started spot checking daily. You can filter other columns for make, model, trim, color, etc. It makes it fairly straightforward to come up with a daily workflow to check for a truck you might be interested in.

After searching for months without luck I put in a request for an allocation on a FULLY LOADED TRD Sport in Army Green...After a month or so my dealer called and said they didn't have my allocation but they did get an allocation for a stock TRD Sport in Army Green. I was bummed out, I hate cloth seats, wanted LED lights, etc...But I took the stock truck...I ordered an aftermarket stereo, Katzin leather and I'll do the rest myself...No moon roof but I can do without that...Didn't care about the parking sensors and tech stuff...The truck was built April 11 and last I heard it was on a truck to a second truck before getting on a boat..I'm guessing it will cross the Gulf but don't know where it will get off the boat and how or when it will get here.

I did a combo of looking up this list and just calling dealers constantly... kept a spreadsheet to keep track. I checked that link twice a day and each time a build I liked popped up and I called the dealer, it was already sold. I also tried searching AutoTrader and Cars.com searching for now and got a few hits, but alas, they were already spoken for when I called.

I decided today would be a good day to go down the list of the 13 dealers I had contacted. I had added a few new dealers late last night as I expanded my search all the way to Colorado. I called today and there it was...

So I'm staring at the email now to reply back with my CC info to lock it in. After taxes and fees I'm looking at $46k OTD ($2K is in the dealer add-on crap... $500 admin fee.)

I found mine on autotrader. Dealer that I was working with couldn't get an allocation. Contacted 10 different dealers within 200 miles. Scratched off the ones marking up over msrp. Got an email back the next morning from a dealer with no mark up. They had one being built on 5/7 unclaimed. Pretty good amount of options. $41395 out the door TRD Off Rd 4x4 dcsb in my 3rd choice of color and a short bed. 2 things I was flexible on. Good luck with yours. I can't wait!!

I reserved mine on 3/4 and picked it up Sat. Afternoon. Mine is an sr5 4x4 in mag. Gray. It took two months to get a very basic truck, but worth the wait if you can be patient.

How do you like the magnetic grey? That's the color I'm getting. I saw pics online with magnetic grey and deep red emblem overlays. I liked the red on there.

I really like the magnetic gray. I might have chosen army green if it was available on the sr5, but I’m more than happy with it.

BOOM! I've never been happier to see a "page not found" error. My temp VIN has stopped working! After 5 1/2 months...we're FINALLY moving in the direction of progress!

Did Toyota ever work out the issue with the bumper color not matching the rest of the truck with MGM color?

Just randomly got a notification from the app that my doors were unlocked. Checked, and I'm showing 4 miles on the odometer and good tire pressure. Still showing 'F' on vspec, but seems like it's getting close!

Mine is scheduled to arrive 5/5 so I'm hoping to be seeing the same thing soon, not having the ETA anymore sucks though

The end of my ETA is today and nothing. No idea if its going to be a couple more days or months at this point. All I know is my Honda Civic Si that hasn't cost me a dime other than general maintenance in the last 8 years, just had the starter go out, then, in the process of replacing, realized the knock sensor was broke too. So now I'm out $530.00 for the starter and $120.00 for a new knock sensor. I was hoping to sell it last month. Hopefully no more issues. Its extremely painful putting money into a vehicle that shouldn't even be here anymore. I hope this trend does not continue.

It's official. I've paid the deposit.

I've got a temp VIN with a build date of 5/5

Those of you who are farther along the process, has delivery been on time?

not even close, over a month late on mine and counting, now Toyota isn't even showing eta's because things are so screwed.
