Wow! I just found this site as I am waiting for my 2022 Sport M/T to arrive. Thanks everyone for all of the super helpful information in this thread! @Rod03 - if there is a chance you could lookup VIN: 3TYSZ5AN2NT074597 I would be forever grateful. I was told to expect a 5/7 arrival but the dealership has not been responsive and I am really hoping to have it before my wedding on 5/21.

I’m glad that discount worked out for you! Congrats on the truck!

Were any scenes of Back to the Future shot on your street?? That was my first thought just when I saw the picture - and then I saw Pasadena in your info and had even more of a “wow” reaction lol.

Got a call from my dealer yesterday saying that Toyota was having a serious issue getting Blind Spot Monitoring sensors so the Limited that I am waiting on might not happen or have SERIOUS delays. They said Toyota told them they may be building trucks without these sensors in the short term.

They offered my a MGM Limited that they have allocated and built (I wanted Wind Chill Pearl Limited). Or I could roll the dice and wait. I’ll probably take the MGM Nightshade instead of waiting indefinitely.

Has anyone else heard anything similar?

I'm wondering the same. I've been hearing of some stuck in port on "inspection hold". Mine has BSM and has been sitting in Newark since 4/21 with no movement, but no report of being held.

Isn't the BSM & RCTA a factory installed option though? I would think it wouldn't be held at the port if it's on the vehicle already, but I could very well be wrong.

I'm with you. Mine was originally spose to be delivered end of March then delayed until end of April, now it's sitting in a parking lot somewhere in long beach since 4/25. I have to remember to lower my expectations on delivery. Hope this shipping mess gets cleared up soon.

Congrats! I'm using the spreadsheet, too - and the trucks I see have all been spoken for. The few dealerships I've cold called around here haven't been very helpful.

My local dealer is also pretty small, but I am # 1 on their allocation request list (or so he says, of course). But I'm also going for a unicorn. Bigger volume dealerships didn't even really want to talk to me - just said that they probably won't see my requested combination... and that was the end of the call. YMMV - this process is very different for everyone.

Putting a general question out here - what are the thoughts on paying for the Dealer/Market Adjustment? and how much is too much? I've seen a $1k adjustment, a $2500 with a couple of installed options, and all the way up to a flat $10k tacked on.

I get it - Capitalism and Supply vs Demand at its finest. I was having this discussion with my SO and said that about $2500 was my limit. She said, "Well, then you just don't want the truck that much." - which isn't true, of course I do! So, I asked her, if she would pay $5.00 for a $0.50 can of soda - simply because it was the last one. She said, "Depends on how thirsty I am." - sigh - good point, of course.

I guess I am just stuck on the idea of simply giving the dealership MORE money on top of all the other fees, simply for the honor of letting them sell me the truck I want.

    Thoughts?

The real problem is we are never going back. Car manufacturers and dealers love this. We will never see acres of cars ever again. But yes I think we will settle into an MSRP but no less phase unless the Economy gets super bad and Pros will probably always have ADM going forward at the largest dealers.

My problem was finding a truck. I talked to at least 10 dealers and only one was doing ADM on trucks.

I had a hard time with this at first and then I thought about it for a few minutes cuz I didn't have very long to make the decision. To me it was worth it I needed a truck and I wanted this truck and I figured the extra $5,000 over the course of 20+ years that I'm going to keep the truck was pretty insignificant. I think if I was somebody that frequently switched vehicles then I'd probably be a little bit more concerned but I don't ever sell my Toyotas.

Thankfully I have a Tacoma already and it's being a trooper and hanging on. I have a 2006 TRD Sport with 230k miles. I recently sank $1k into a new driveshaft and it's like new again but still I'd love my new truck to come in.

They are factory, I'm just grasping at straws and making wild theories to make myself feel better about waiting with no feedback from anyone. :D

I think Dealer/Market adjustment is understandable when it's sitting on the lot and I can drive it home that same day. Obviously I don't think $5k-$10k is reasonable, but I think $2500 is good for those that need the vehicle right now.

No matter how bad I want the truck, I can't justify paying a dealer markup or dumb dealer add ons (Lojack) since I don't need the vehicle right now. If I'm putting down a deposit and waiting then I can't justify paying for an adjustment on top of waiting. Time is money, I'd rather pay in time at the moment.

Can you tell me where you got the sheepskin covers? I’ve been looking all over for some of that quality.

With inflation the way its going, that extra $5000 you would pay wont be worth much in a few years and your truck will be worth more thsn it was new. Used are already selling for more than new in some incenses. Just picked up my new truck on the 3'rd with no added fees, just window sticker price and taxes. Della Toyota Plattsburg NY (upstate, a few miles from the Canadian border, and closer to Vermont)

Scheduled Delivery for Saturday! This is a week 13 build (no tech package) that arrived at Newark port on 4/30. Hopefully some of you other guys with a similar time frame get delivery scheduled soon!

Haha, actually just a few blocks away on Bushnell avenue. Gorgeous street!

Thanks for the tip on the rebate! BTW, hoping other who plan to finance take advantage of new loans. My sales rep said Toyota was offering 4.9% last month, but it's now down to 1.75% if you finance for 36 or 48 months.
