How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

How are you supposed to 'test drive' a vehicle that isn't at the dealership already? That would be my response.

Also what are the exact specs you want on your truck? I’ve called 20+ Toyota dealerships in NJ. Glen Toyota had one at MSRP but others were marked up. Princeton or Prestige (can’t remember which one) also sells at MSRP. I can help you look around in NJ.

 

Scratch that one off your list. MSRP dealers will tell you straight out what the price is. There are more than enough dealers that are honoring the msrp on tacomas that you don't need to pay crazy mark ups. The dealers are just taking advantage of the impatient. That's exactly the reason the used Tacomas are in many cases more than a new one. Because it's on the lot right in front of you and can't wait the 4 months to order one.

Is anyone else able to use the vpsec/javascript trick this morning? I was doing my usual early morning reload to see if I'm F->G but noticed a bunch of new errors in the console - and no more JS file with a filename matching my VIN.

 

I checked it a few minutes ago. Mine showed F.

 

I re-checked mine again and I still get same info as always. No changes to my vspec.

 

Still works for me. No change in status in 3 weeks....

Weird. Mine is no longer showing the JS file that has the payload. At least not for me. Tried incognito as well thinking maybe it was just a browser/session issue. So strange.

Normally you can go to https://guest.dealer.toyota.com/v-spec/{PASTEYOURVINHERE}/detail and inspect the network tab. There's typically a file named {YOURVIN} which has a payload JSON object with various attributes on your truck. One of those is a dealerCategory which shows the status. There used to be an ETA in here too although those have vanished for everyone AFAIK.

It was working for me up until about 15m ago. Probably just something unique to me or my machine since it's working for others still.

Edit: This is working for me again. Seems to have been a client issue local to me. Thanks again to those who validated so quickly that it wasn't a bigger issue.

 

My vspec page is still working. It hasn't updated since I got the permanent VIN, though. It still shows "A" despite this thread's savior, Rod, letting me know it's been loaded onto a truck. Not sure when it's supposed to update to "F" but I'm doing my best to stay patient.

 

Just checked mine and it changed to G!

What's your VIN? I can try and see if it works for me.
