How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

I got dumb lucky and walked into a dealer after calling nearly 20 locally and found an unallocated trd offroad lunar rock with preem packages, that was slated to be built in week 13, about 2 months ago. Been waiting and nail biting and reading these posts for what seems like months and finally today it hit G status! That usually means its a few days away right?!

Permanent VIN: 3/26
A to F: 3/28
Arrived in Newark NJ: 4/21
Sat for a while
F to G: early morning 5/9
Delivered to dealership mid morning: 5/10
Dealer called, ready for pickup 6pm
Picked up about 7:30

For what it's worth, dealer said it was "unusual" for it to sit at port so long. My guess is either they ran out of a port installed part or with diesel prices the way they are, they are being smarter with their hauls.

The wait for me between Newark and changing to 'G' occurred a lot faster, but I'm now on day 5 of waiting, should've been at the dealer Saturday, then Monday, then yesterday....

I'm hoping it came in last night, so I can pick it up tonight.

 

Not yet, it was getting dark after paperwork and I had an hour drive to get home to put the kids to bed so I scooted (21.6mpg TRD Sport). I'll get some soon, as long as nobody cares about the bugs I picked up on the highway

It finally showed up! Now to sit and stare at my phone, waiting for the call to come get it.

 

Nice congrats! Mine is also a super white TRD OR with the LED headlights. I'm hoping it'll come in in the next week or so

Update here…. Paid in October… still nothing. Will be placing an order on an orange Ranger Raptor the day they open and will still hope that a Tacoma in electric lime green shows up first. My guess? Toyota won’t ever deliver to me. It’s kind of weird talking to them at a corporate level as a stockholder… they are very pessimistic about everything from that side, then I call as a consumer and they really lay it on thick about how great things are.

 

Build date was around 4/1, original ETA was 5/3 to 5/8. ETA shifted back week for unknown reasons, then back to the original dates a few days later, before finally disappearing. Mine was stuck in a yard for a few weeks before making it onto a ship, and it doesn't even have that many accessories on it.

 

I have the same built date that had an ETA of 5/5-5/10 but obviously that's no longer the case. Last update is rail depart 0n 04/09 in transit to Logistics Park in Elwood Illinois. Dealer called me yesterday and they also do not have an update other than what @Rod03 has been providing us. Shout out to Rod for constantly fulfilling our requests to check on our VINs

 

@howtowakeakar what state are you located at?

Has anyone seen/heard of a reason or excuse that TRDs with the advanced technology package aren't being produced? at least in my area of the North East

I have heard issues of Tacomas in general with tech packages being delayed due to chip shortage.

 

I have a feeling ours are on the same train! Camaraderie through impatience

 

im about to just say F-it and wait till 2023 or even consider just buying a F150 at this point
