How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

    A little change of topic here...
    I'm trading my car in and that's what the dealer and I agreed upon on the purchase agreement. This was back on 4/21. So, I checked CarMax again to see if my car's value has increased in a few weeks and it did! By almost $4k compared to what the dealer is offering for my trade-in. I would definitely save more money by selling my car to CarMax even with the trade-in tax credit. However, before I mention this to my dealer, do you guys see an issue with this if I sell my car instead to CarMax even though as part of our purchase agreement, that I will trade my car in? This dealer seems to be honest and I really don't see any issue with me selling my car but I wanted to get your guys' opinion. Thanks in advance.

    Do you know if you're paying any dealer markup or add ons? I've heard sometimes they won't have those if there's a trade-in. They'll make more money on the trade-in, so I'm not sure how the dealer will feel about you not trading it in with them. You could see if they could match it or get close to Carmax, but I think you might have a problem if it's in writing... It may come down to them handling this better if they're trying to build a relationship with you as a repeat customer.

    Sell it to CarMax! I would and never look back…and besides, you are paying MSRP or better for your new truck! Tell your dealer the market has changed and you want market value.

    It's MSRP and there are no add-ons and that's why I mentioned that they seem like an honest dealer LOL. But yeah, maybe I should reach out to my salesperson first before pulling the trigger on this, and see if they could match CarMax's offer.

    Think about it in reverse. If the used car market had tanked do you think they would still honor their "buy" price on that piece of paper from months ago?

    They would not.

    Got a notification today that multiple doors were opened on the truck! Tire pressure is 36 all way round and has 1 mile in the odometer. Still no word from my dealer regarding delivery though. Their communication skills suck. Only way I get any news is if I call them directly. They still haven't notified me of the permanent VIN. I found that on my own on auto trader. Someone in this thread recommended doing that and sure enough, there it was.

    Anyone in here that have only received a few notification updates from the Toyota app before taking delivery? Mine has only 1 mile and I've only started receiving notifications of "doors unlocked" yesterday. I'm afraid that mine is still at the port even though according to Rod and my salesperson that it's been sitting at the rail yard and waiting to get loaded on a truck for dealer delivery.

    The doors unlocked notification happens after someone opens a door on the truck. If it doesn get lock within so many minutes you will receive that. So everytime you get one, it could be that it was move, maybe out of the train or into a truck.
