I'm beyond jealous of you haha. I originally wanted the Off Road 4x4 but I ended up settling on the 2WD TRD Sport. I test drove both and they both feel relatively comfortable ride wise.

My truck is still sitting at our local pier going through pre delivery inspection. I'm super jealous since my truck ain't in my hands yet lol. I hope, hope I'll get it before the end of this week...

You'll love it, it's worth the wait!! I honestly didn't even test drive any of the trim (coz no dealer had any in stock lol), I just read that the Sport has a stiffer suspension compared to the Off-road

Did you check with Carmax? They usually offer more than everyone else

that is where I’ll likely sell to. I don’t trust carvana.

I thought I’d break even or maybe a few hundred more. Well it looks like I’ll be getting the tune and remote start sooner than I thought

    Another update.

4/25 - Called one of the last dealerships on my list anticipating being put on a call list. Instead, I got lucky and there was an unspoken allocation of what I was looking for with a 5/5 build date. Pay deposit and received temp VIN
5/5 - original build date, temp VIN stopped working VSPEC
5/9 - contacted dealer and received permanent VIN
5/9 - 5/12 Noon - VSPEC shows A status, no notifications within the Toyota app
5/12 Afternoon - VPSEC shows F status, no notifications within the Toyota app
5/17 - Rod's info - Rail departed on 5/6, VSPEC is still showing "F" status
5/18 - Truck is now posted on the dealer website, status still F.

I didn't know that! Is it usually worth going to them instead of trading in?

I've been patient, I've been understanding but seriously Toyota, what is the delay???? Truck built 2/25, arrived at Long Beach 4/27 and it's been sitting for 3.5 weeks. I know of at least 2 other folks on here with the same issue. I've already contacted Toyo Corp, and I'm fixin' to get creative and start contacting Long Beach port authority or anyone else I can think of that may play a part in this ridiculous game. Arghhhhhh! Waiting on EL Pro.

I'm selling my jeep wrangler in the private market for more than 2x the amount anyone from Carmax, KBB, Carvana could give me. Maybe it's hard to KBB a modded wrangler, but you might want to try the private market if it makes sense $$$/tax-wise.

You can also find someone in the private market and sell it through the dealer the day you pick up your truck and have it count as a trade-in.

Yes, I sold my car to CarMax and they offered $5k more than what Carvana was offering. Plus, I was in and out in 45mins with check in hand!

I started watching some Car Care Nut videos that are made by a Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician. He said that one of the things not to do during the break in period is to drive the truck long distances like 6+ hours. He said it might cause some problems 5-8+ years down the road. Anyone have any clue on this? I know I shouldn't really be worried about it, but it was just more tips for getting the vehicle to 400k+ miles, which I'd like to do. As well as just take care of the new vehicle since this is my first.

It's tricky lol the Toyota app is great that I can pull up a owners manual for a vehicle I haven't even picked up.

    Owners Manual:
    Breaking in your new Toyota
To extend the life of the vehicle, observing the following precautions is recommended:

●For the first 200 miles (300 km): Avoid sudden stops.

●For the first 500 miles (800 km): Do not tow a trailer.

    ●For the first 1000 miles (1600 km):

    • Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
    • Avoid sudden acceleration.
    • Do not drive continuously in low gears.
    • Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods.

Yeah mine is 255 miles. I'm not sure what the solution would be... multiple breaks? maybe make it a full day trip?

The current plan is to drive it straight taking turns with my bro in law. Fueling up would be the only break.
