This. I sold my Subaru on eBay for KBB value within 3 hours. I think it was worth 75% of that to go through middlemen.

How hard is it to sell a vehicle on ebay?

Not very, it works like any other item really except in my case the buyer was responsible for pickup or shipping via third party. eBay does take a small fee (I think it was maybe 3-5%?) but to me it's worth it to not have to deal with flakes from Craigslist. Lots of folks willing to buy used sight unseen in the current market.

Main disadvantage it sold much faster than I was expecting so now I'm without wheels lol. 5/5 build and stuck working from home...

Total BS. Drive it like you stole it….it’ll last 400K miles because of the maintenance that you do on it, not because you drove it on the road for 8 hours.

    Another update.

4/25 - Called one of the last dealerships on my list anticipating being put on a call list. Instead, I got lucky and there was an unspoken allocation of what I was looking for with a 5/5 build date. Pay deposit and received temp VIN
5/5 - original build date, temp VIN stopped working VSPEC
5/9 - contacted dealer and received permanent VIN
5/9 - 5/12 Noon - VSPEC shows A status, no notifications within the Toyota app
5/12 Afternoon - VPSEC shows F status, no notifications within the Toyota app
5/17 - Rod's info - Rail departed on 5/6, VSPEC is still showing "F" status
5/18 - Truck is now posted on the dealer website, status still F.
5/19 - Toyota App is showing 1 mile on the odo and showing gas gauge (low). VSPEC is still showing F

I assume when it has Gas and mileage it's getting off the train and getting parked or going straight into a trailer.

Same build date as you, going through an LA dealer (Longo) as well but I'm in SD. 1/23 deposit. Wonder if ours are on the same truck.

I think constantly checking would make me more anxious, so I didn't ask for the permanent VIN.

A big thing would be to not use the cruise control, the variations of your own foot and planning a scenic route with more towns along the way to create more speed variations will help out with a proper break in.

It's not. I'm picking mine up from Denver. I originally had a deposit with Longo and after some digging found out I was #68 on their list. No thanks.

I'm not worried about it :) I also think CC kills your gas mileage.

A slight update: I put a deposit for an Army Green Sport 4x4 allocation on Feb 21st.

Salesman called today and said he got allocations for a Sport in White or Gray and an allocation for a Lunar Rock Off Road. These three are slated for June builds. I could choose one of those or wait it out for Green.

I'm going to check out the spec sheet on the white one tomorrow and decide.

Just picked mine up this week.
2022 TRD OR, DCLB - Premium+LED+Tech+All Weather. (No other stupid craps)

Had a deposit with Longo since April 26th. (waiting on refund now)
I was told I am #55 on the list and it would be several months after a few follow-ups.
Nonetheless, continued searching dealers that is willing to knock off the stupid mark-up...
Went through several and few of them even wanted 10k+...
Got lucky and found the exact Taco I wanted and the dealer worked out the price. (wasn't easy...)

Not my 1st color choice, but this was the 2nd choice I had in my mind. I gave up on Lunar Rock and kinda glad I did actually.
3 miles on the ODO at pick-up.

Good luck with your Tacos y'all for those who are waiting! Hope you get that call it's on the way.

Update on mine. I submitted my order for a 22 Trail Edition in Army Green on 5/6. I received the email today from our vehicle services group that the order has been placed. It also said that I would receive additional vehicle tracking information as it’s available, and I could expect my next email notification in approximately two months. It also gave an approximate delivery lead time of 4 months…

But I also work in logistics planning/supply chain for Toyota and know how big of a mess our supply chain is right now, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it takes longer than that. Lol.

I took delivery of my Mag Grey SR5 2 weeks ago, and I just passed 500 miles today...I can't keep my hands off of it. I live 3 miles from work, so it sure isn't to and from work mileage. Dropped some more cash on it today getting a hard tonneau cover, steps, and mud flaps. I think this truck has stolen my soul just like cute redheaded girls used to do...:goingcrazy:

Welp. I don't have a choice but to tow a trailer before I reach 500 miles and drive constantly at 65mph while I move cross country. I guess I'm screwed

I mean you can't avoid it, I doubt you'll be screwed. Like everything, I apparently air on the side of caution. I'm just glad you have a truck to help you move!

Haha yeah will definitely be cautious and will be switching from 55 to 65 to maybe 70mph sometimes. I'm moving from Chicago to Vegas so that's about 1700+ miles. Me and my dog will be stopping overnight somewhere in Des Moine and Denver. Break-in period should be done once we get closer to Denver.

I'm at a week tomorrow and I could eke over 1,000 miles if I tried, currently just shy of 900 and I have a 90 mile roundtrip commute. Just ordered mud flaps, bed divider, bed lights, and the TRD skid plate yesterday, really hoping they all come in tomorrow so I can spend the first scorching weekend doing that, along with wrenching on our 2 other project vehicles.

I also had to tow before 500 miles, guess the landscape trailer and mower was just too much for it.....time to sell I guess.

$75k, no lowballers, I know what I got.
