How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

This whole process is super confusing. I placed an “order” on 10/19, gave CC for deposit and was told 8-12 weeks. Since then nothing.

Should I ask for temp vin or build sheet?

 

My salesman told me to call Thursday mornings to check on allocations.

Every 2-3 weeks toyota releases a list of vehicles destined to be built and delivered to individual dealers.

I call every week though just to see if anyone backed out of a purchase on a truck with my desired specs.

I called the other day to update my desired specs and update color choice to WCP in addition to Lunar Rock. Don't think it will make things go any faster though lol

 

I’ve been thinking about adding colors as well.
Currently only set on Lunar Rock, but been thinking about MGM, and Barcelona Red.

But I’ve already bought the matching yeti cup for the Lunar Rock lol.

 

Coworker told me it couldn't be that bad to buy a truck. She found this on the lot last month. I don't mind the red too much but can't be buying the same color as a coworker now. I also have my heart pretty much set on Lunar Rock.

 

I’m holding out unless it gets to late Feb and I don’t have any more information than I have now.

I’m sure me wanting a manual doesn’t help with how they are built in batches.

 

This is exactly what my Dealer told me and exactly what happened. I also think there is some logic in the last 6 digit's letters and what they mean. My last 6 are 03B802, I think the B means Build since I have and I think that Pro has an A so I bet that means Allocated, just guessing but it would make sense.

One side note we have a Bronco on order as well and if you think this process is confusing trust me it's easy in comparison.

I'm in the same boat. My temp VIN says week 01, but my salesman gave me a build date of 01/31. Delivery in March.

 

No. I got a window sticker estimate, but no VIN.

I'm nervous about ordering anything for a vehicle I don't have. I'm thinking I want the 4Runner TRD wheels, bed mat, black badging, and weather tech mats. I'm really unsure how the WCL will look with Bronze wheels though.

Toyota assigns a week to be built on each unit long before it is getting close to being built. The 2 numbers prior to the letter in the last 6 of the temporary VIN (i.w.•••••••06A345) is the assigned week of the year Toyota has determined it will be built. The 06 prior to the A means scheduled 6th week of the new year, 2nd week in February.
However, with chip shortages and other parts being hard to get, there is a chance it may be delayed a week or more. Your salesman is at the mercy of the machine on getting it built for you.
Best advice, once you have a temporary VIN, plug it into this site and watch it often. If you scroll down on the site it will give the details of your vehicle allocated to you. Once your temporary VIN “disappears” then it has been built. From there, to track, you have to communicate with your salesman.

Lol, I forgot about the bed lighting and TRD grill. Kind of want the skid plate, but thi k there is better out there. I don't do any really nasty off reading. Isn't much around me. I have taken my essentially stock 04 Pathfinder out, and it does fairly well.

 

Thanks for this, I was thinking I needed to use the details link my dealer sent me but I'm not sure that will update. One thing I noticed is this has a "Date Of First Use:" and mine says "Date of First UseDecember 31, 1", hopfully that means it's getting built a little early??
