Total BS made up by the dealership. Toyota will punishing them by not sending them vehicles that they can sell? Ridiculous…..

So what exactly does G mean? I'm switched over to g now, but no update from dealer. Does this mean the truck is on a truck, at the very least?

I'd imagine it has more to do with Toyota wanting their dealerships to honor msrp with the local customer base, as they are more likely to be repeat customer. Out of state is unlikely to bring the vehicle back to the shop for service or another purchase in the future.

I haven't seen any hood was opened notifications, but that sounds like they're doing the pre-inspection so I'd just double check with the dealer

I initially put a deposit down with my local dealer which also happens to be owned by the same group that owns the Chevy dealership I work for. I wanted the employee discount so didn't look around until a couple months back. I finally started looking and found what I wanted a couple states over. If nothing else, it doesn't hurt to put feelers out at multiple dealerships.

Most likely. I also contacted a dealer in SoCal and the rep there told me $6-$9K over msrp regardless in/out of state. Total garbage, I told them they were being ridiculous

I saw they brought back Gobi, I like that one and Sarge.

Now you just have to learn to pronounce Willys properly and point out the wrong pronunciation by most people everywhere you go! :argue:

I though 6-9K was insane - that's immoral - wonder how many people pay that

I don't remember the exact dealer. Was calling dealers off of a 200 mile area Autotrader search from where I live on Long Island but know it was in Mass. That proved to be the best way to look. Made 20 calls until I got a call back with an unclaimed and allocated trd or at msrp. They're out there just need to be willing to drive to get them.

Yep, my fiancée wanted a Gladiator Rubicon for whatever reason and when we went to the dealer we left a few hours later with an OTD price lower than what they had it listed at for MSRP. Took some time and negotiating but such a crazy time from different dealer perspectives.

    Coming soon
Well truck was delivered to rail yard and is now at Toyota facility in Princeton, Indiana according to salesman. Thought he was going to tell me it was about to be loaded on a hauler but it has been selected for quality control. So...another delay. I guess I'll just choose to be positive about QC. Another week or 2 of driving my daughters car.

P.S. Anyone been through this or have idea how long QC will take? Next step is put on hauler to dealership though!

I really lucked out buying my truck in 2019 before the shit hit the fan. It's so damn hard to get a vehicle now.
