I can see tire pressure and fuel on the app now. Still in "F" but I hope that means it'll be here soon. 5/5 build.

I think it's time I properly describe my experience with getting my truck.

I originally put an order in for a 22' Army Green Toyota Tacoma Off-Road Short Bed with LED + Technology package. Base price was already at $40,000 US Dollars. Salesperson told me I'd have my truck within a month, so I put in my $500 down at the beginning of April. As the month came closer, I had no contact from my salesperson until he finally called and told me my truck wouldn't be made until early September. I didn't like that they falsely promised me something so I refunded my deposit and went to another Toyota dealer. This time, the Toyota dealer had a couple Tacoma trucks inbound, but none of them were Off Road short beds, so I opted for an Army Green TRD Sport 2WD short bed instead. Put my $500 dollar deposit down on May 5th and I was told I'd have my truck within 2 weeks so played the waiting game again. On May 27th, my original truck I ordered arrived on a carrier truck with the accessories I wanted (predator steps, locking tailgate, and bed lighting), but the Trail Edition I wanted had everything I wanted too, but it had the TRD exhaust system as well. As they were unloading it, I asked if anyone had it on pre order/hold. Salesperson and manager confirmed that it was just an extra order that they received and it was gonna be a "first come, first serve," type of deal. Since my 2WD TRD Sport was already at the same price as the Trail Edition (~41K US dollars), I asked if I could get the Trail Edition instead. They allowed me to and we completed paperwork and everything and I walked out with my '22 Tacoma Trail Edition in Lunar Rock instead of my 2WD TRD Sport.

It's an SR5 trim and you don't get the LED lights, keyless entry, and remote start, but man the Trail Edition is one beautiful truck, especially with the bronze wheels and the heritage grille. I put on 270 miles since I got it and I've been enjoying every single moment of it, especially the cooler!

I'm overall happy with my truck that I got instead, as it is the last one my dealership is receiving for the year.

I know I posted a few days ago about taking delivery a few days ago, but I just wanted to give more detail in my experience of finding a Tacoma :)

Thank you! Are Baja builds accurate these days? I understand my week 19 build is behind, but can I realistically expect a 06/07 build date?

Thanks, appreciate it greatly. Any sense of San Diego’s general delay length or how accurate build dates are these days?

Hard to say, some trucks got put on hold but after they were on F status. Build dates seem to be roughly on schedule.

What about trucks going through Long Beach @Rod03 what have you observed rough average wait time from the time it gets to the port till it gets to the dealer?

Honestly it varies too much, couldnt say for sure but my guess will by anywhere from 30 to 45 days. For the time the truck gets build to when you take delivery.
