Hey Rod- are you by chance able to see what's going on with 3TMGZ5ANXNM503972 ? It got off rail last week but seems to be stalled since. Much appreciated!

They may have a long list, specially if they sell at MSRP. There has been tons of premium package Tacomas sold this year. It not a matter of "accepting" the order, Toyota may give you some of your preferences on allocations, but they do not take straight orders from any dealer.

Back in Jan I was wanting a Sport with the same set-up, ended up not getting an allocation for 3 months before I decided to open up and got the allocation on a Limited.

You might want to consider a Pro if you want the OR features plus tech, seems more likely to get an allocation.

Agreed with Turkino. I too wanted advanced tech, and ended up just getting a Limited. The Limited has more than I wanted or needed, but it checked my mandatory requirements (and more).

Thanks, that's great info. I'm a little over a month behind you so that really helps. I'm getting a Magnet Gray DCSB SR5 4x4 at MSRP. Been waiting years for the opportunity to buy this truck.

I'd like to give back to the community and add to Phaaronite's post some details in the hope it will help others:

    • The evening before my Tacoma was built (and the day before that and the day before that, etc), I checked V-SPEC with my Temp VIN and it was working.
    • The morning that my Tacoma was built, I checked V-SPEC with my Temp VIN and it stopped working, giving an error. From others, I was hopefully that meant that my Tacoma was being built.
    • The late afternoon that my Tacoma was built, I checked the Autotrader website and found my Tacoma. I knew it was mine as they listed it for sale at my dealer, and it was exactly what my allocation was for (same color, factory options, port options and price). They had it listed with the permanent VIN, which is how I got it. I don't remember if I checked VSPEC with my permanent VIN. Nothing was on my dealer's website.
    • V-SPEC changed from "is TempVIN- True" to "is TempVIN - False" the first time I used my permanent VIN. The entire time, with both temp and permanent VIN, V-SPEC has always had "isPresold - True"
    • My dealer is part of a large auto group (Fitzmall) and they have two Toyota dealers in the group. Both Toyota dealers have their own website and Fitzmall has a website too.. My Tacoma was listed on the Fitzmall website on the second day after it was made, and had the permanent VIN, and has never been listed on my dealer's website (or the other Toyota dealer's website).
      • My salesman says that Fitzmall does that to increase calls to their dealerships and assured me that they won't sell "my" Tacoma.
    • The day after my Tacoma was built, I changed to my permanent VIN on the Toyota app and it had my vehicle's info on it, it didn't have mileage, tire pressure but in one of the screens, it had 3 miles driven. Several days later I had tire pressure (38PSI) and the odometer at 3 miles too.
    • It sat at the Santa Rita MX rail yard for two weeks, waiting to go to the the port.
    • The day it arrived at the port (missing the vessel by one day - maybe the lot at the port was full ?), my odometer changed to 4 miles and my tire pressure went down to 36 PSI all around).
    • Its now three weeks since it was built, and sitting at Veracruz for a week waiting for the vessel to take it to Newark (?). Status has remained as "Allocated" the entire time, so far.
Hope this helps others as we all (im) patiently wait for our Tacoma ! And a big shoutout to Rod for all his help !

would you mind checking 3TYSZ5AN0NT074291 again?

also has anyone else experienced their truck being stuck at the port for like two months with absolutely no updates whatsoever or am I alone in this?

Qc hold maybe? My salesman can't tell me if the sky is blue, let alone the location of my vehicle. If not for the man, Rod, I'd likely would have given up, mine was built two months ago today afaik.
