Interesting! The dealership (in Virginia), around 2pm today, said they thought it was in Florida at port AND they said it was still on hold. Any guesses as to how that happens? Good news but quite confused!

Either they gave you the wrong VIN or look at the wrong themselves. I just recheck just to be sure and it says is there.

Checked with one of the dealers about half an hour away and they mentioned they have an allocated TRD OR that is slated to be built sometime in July. The salesman told me if I put down a deposit, they will mark the truck as "pre-sold" but requires them to pull credit from at least one of the credit bureaus to verify that I am a credible buyer.

I've never heard of anything like that before. Does that sound right? I wasn't planning on financing through the dealer as I was planning on financing through my bank and not sure if pulling credit from even a single bureau just to put down a deposit would affect my credit or not.

Every dealer has their own rules and practices. I stay away from anyone that requires that type of stuff.

Yeah just didn't sit right with me that they need to pull from at least one of the bureaus to even considered my deposit.

My dealer asked I put a $500 deposit down on the TRD Off-road that I wanted that they already had allocated, but no credit check. Sounds kinda strange to me. Just my experience.

Same here my dealer took a $500 deposit, and I mentioned no credit check until the truck gets here, and he said we can't under the law until it's here, also let's say they ran your credit today and all is good, then in the meantime, something happens either to your credit or lets the truck itself something happens to the point it's damaged beyond repair, now you have no new truck, and you have a credit check on your credit report

    This ^^

The dealer is most likely trying to gauge your level of interest and commitment. I doubt they will run your credit until the truck arrives. I had a couple dealers in California request that I "pre contract" on a truck by filling out a credit app, but explained they wouldn't run my credit or have me sign anything until the truck arrived. They were doing it to weed out customers who placed deposits at several dealerships.

I’m having the same problem. Mine was built 4/27 and still waiting for delivery. Every time I try to track my VIN it either says wrong VIN or vehicle has been no given a number yet. Hoping it’s here soon. Getting antsy

Any other sightings of PROs being delivered? I'm just trying to find out if the MTM option is installed or if they left it out

They do a soft credit inquiry (doesn't effect score) to make sure you can buy the truck and you're not wasting their time. My dealer did the same when I put down a deposit. Believe it or not, there is a good percentage of the population that is 100% full of shit and thinks nothing of wasting other people's time.

2022 TRD OR DCSB Lunar Rock (Soon)
I’ve had a deposit in for a Lunar Rock TRD OR MT for a few weeks now and according to my dealer I’m not likely to get this truck anytime soon, if ever.
So I called every dealership within a 300 mile radius in hopes i could find one that a customer had backed out of or one that was allocated but not claimed.
I found the exact truck I’m wanting at the very last dealership I called, TRD OR Manual transmission Lunar Rock, at a dealership in South Carolina, they said the truck was on the way and had not been claimed yet, eta 21 days.
I couldn’t believe it! This was my lucky day!
They emailed me a spec sheet, and it’s a pretty standard TRD OR, no premium or tech package.
So I called them back to discuss the numbers and I was absolutely floored. They were wanting $48,300 for the truck. With taxes it came out to over $50k. Insanity.
I tried to negotiate but to no avail. They weren’t budging. I said no thanks.

Guess I’ll keep waiting and hope my local dealer gets one allocated. At least they’re giving me MSRP.

I know it’s common for TRD Pros, but is it normal for dealerships to jack up the prices like that for Off Roads??
Seems like nothing but pure greed, taking advantage of the situation.
