I was Blessed. I went to my local Dealer in late January 2022, looking to place an Order. After I told him what I wanted . And he tried to find it in the Sales Region. He let me know Toyota had quit taking Customer orders in July of 2021. He went on to say: It would probably be a 4 to 8 month wait "best guess". I went home looked at Autotrader. I found two Identical New Trucks, at the same Dealer. Both of them Optioned exactly the way I wanted, down to the Color . I Called them. I was in the Process of putting the Deposit down on the first one. When Someone else placed it before I Could. I immediately placed a deposit on the second one. I Financed Through my Bank. I Flew in to Colorado Springs , Check in hand and Drove it home. It was a 685 Mile Drive home. I had to Drive Through the Worst Snow Storm of the Year. Sure glad, the Wife wasn't with me. It was a Royal PITA for sure. But my area Dealers didn't have anything even close to what I wanted.

I had to have one with a Manual Transmission myself. Actually, there wasn't any options I would negotiate on except Color. Even that worked out.The need for a Manual Transmission. Makes them a lot harder to find. Nice Truck !

The manual is what made mine so hard to get allocated as well. 2022 -> TRD Pro -> Electric Lime Metallic -> Manual - dealer said, in order, each one of those made it progressively harder and narrowed the chances of getting it allocated so much that I might not even see it. Ever.

Manual... I get it - I tried an automatic in a 4Runner back in 2015 - HATED IT. Nothing wrong with the 4Runner, I just could never get the same off road performance out of the automatic, especially on downhill runs & the 'descent control' or whatever was a horrible experience.

Manual all the way! and if the rumors are to be believed, this year or next might be the last year for the Tacoma manual...

Beautiful, congrats! I love those window vent/rain guards, such a simple addition and so useful. I have them on my ZR2 and my stunt car.

Unfortunately this just isn't true. All 22 MY Tacomas are built in Mexico, the very first digit of the VIN (3 in this case) designates Mexico. If it were made in Japan the first digit would be J.

Thanks again! Appreciate it. So it’s multiple vehicles from my build day that are not moving? Any ideas why they might just be sitting there? Anyone else here part of the 06/04 build? Such a mystery…

Looks good, congrats! Waiting on my DCLB OR in Barcelona Red - that Lunar Rock looks nice, though. What hood deflector is that?

@Rod03 do you only check Toyotas or could you check on a RAV4 as well?

Excited for you. And this gives me hope. My DCLB Off Road Barcelona Red was built 06/04 in Baja, and I just got my first door unlock notifications yesterday. Not sure why mine would be so far behind yours, having been built weeks earlier, but at this point, I’m just going to be happy when it’s here.

YES - my DCLB was built on 6/4 in Baja and still sitting there. My dealer called Gulf States Toyota for an update and were informed many built trucks stuck there at factory “missing parts” to complete.

what are you looking for and location? I'm convinced larger dealers have far more power over smaller dealers

Interesting. My dealer is still trying to figure out what’s going on. Is your truck also an Off Road? What packages are on it? Mine has the tech package (with BSM and rear traffic alert) that was rumored to be causing delays…

No way in hell a Tacoma is made in Japan. What dealer was this? Does it begin with a K?

@Rod03 - I'm doing my best to be patient, but can you please see if 3TYCZ5AN6NT089527 has moved at all when you get time? Last update you gave me was 10 days ago, said the truck made it to Veracruz at least.

Weird that some dealers seem to be able to find the info, and others just can't. My sales guy said the dealership's "Inventory Allocation Specialist" is on vacation, so no updates. I didn't know that was even a title...
