Not sure if I want to know how they opened the door and an hour later they unlocked the door. Who am I to question it.

 

I thought mine was built 7/15? 3 weeks with no movement isn't looking good. I'll put a deposit on a different one in case this one doesn't work.

And as always many thanks for your help. If it wasn't for you I'd believe the Dealer's BS.

I called Toyota Brand Engagement Center about the “test” safety recall. According to them 75,300 Tacoma pick ups are involved with this recall. It involves weak welds on the child safety anchors. They were unsure if this is what is holding up vehicles and I was told to contact my dealer. Possibly another piece to the puzzle.

 

If there is a large delay in shipping of 08/06 built trucks we will know this is likely a format for periodic quality holds.

 

Is entering the VIN in the Toyota app enough to get notifications? When I try to activate it it says I need to enter in a number from inside the vehicle.

You can't activate until truck is in your possession I have app entered permanent VIN and get notifications when ever doors unlock tire pressure and mileage

 

Okay. I've put in the VIN but I haven't got any updates so I guess it's just sitting there. I guess that's a good sign that they're unlocking doors.

 

I got notifications after it was built and moved to port-- got one this morning Hoping that was it getting on truck for ride to North Carolina

My truck was built in early May and VIN is not showing any recalls at the moment but for now I am going to assume it could be included later on, since 75000 Tacomas is probably about half of the entire 2022MY production to date. The article says owners will be notified by mid-September.

 

I saw it in the Toyota App, I haven’t heard anything from the dealer.

 

I am disappointed that I have a Taco Prius in the app.

I’ve read that dealerships by law can’t sell a new car that has a recall until they are fixed. Where does that leave us now?
