@Rod03 hey rod! Happy Saturday! By any chance, does it say anything when the train (TTGX697303) was last seen for 3TMCZ5AN9NM519482? or any other changes besides it arriving to ABQ on 8/10?

Put my deposit down a couple of weeks ago on a 2022 TRDOR M/T scheduled for build the last week of August. Basically a fully loaded truck (including leather seats), with a 6-speed manual. It will be Silver, like my ‘18 was.

Don’t ask me why, but I enjoyed my Taco more than my Tundra. Tundra is more powerful, more comfortable, and better appointed…but it’s just not a Taco. The 3rd Gen Taco’s just do it for me, and I can’t wait to get my arse back into one.

Yes, that is a temporary VIN because of the character in the [edited 14th] position. You can load it into the NTSA VIN decoder and it will provide the configuration, but it is not a permanent VIN. Look on the Dealer's Web-site, and you may find your future truck's VIN has been replaced with the permanent one:

I have a 7/5 build that is still trapped at the factory. I got a call today from the salesman that my truck was on the lot. I asked him why it still shows as being in Mexico and he commented how messed up the Toyota tracking system is. So we did the finance app over the phone and made an appointment to pick it up on Monday.

Got a call 10 minutes later that someone gave him the wrong stock number. It wasn’t mine. Mine is still in Mexico! Ruined my whole weekend! Still waiting.

OMG. That's terrible. Maybe they should throw in some freebees when you pick up the truck.

This is disgustingly bad form on dealership. I feel for you and i agree that they should sweeten your deal a bit after that fiasco. I would be in the insane asylum if this happened to me:crazy:

This was one day after I complained that there had been no communication! He did say that he would do something for me when the truck comes in. Don’t know what that means! Meanwhile, I’m losing money each week on my trade.

If I could find one somewhere else, I would already be gone. With my luck, as soon as I cancel, they’ll load it on the train!

    I’ve

I’ve had a dilemma. So I had plenty of options at the time. my salesperson said the original white one I wanted was going to be here by now. So my original truck arrived at Long Beach on 7/18, no movement, long story short thanks to @Rod03 i checked on another white Tacoma ($400) more was on its way from Baja, original was made in deep Mexico, I can’t spell, so I called as soon as the dealership opened, switched my deposit, and bam, the second option is already on its way.

Glad it all worked out for you. No one around me has anything unclaimed. I’m still looking, but now I have a better idea of what to ask, thanks to this group!

shit man, hang in there. It’s better late than ever. I feel like we all will rarely see a 2023 model. People are expecting a change but I think they’ll downgrade the Tacoma’s to a 4cyd turbo because of the supply shortage. For me, I’d rather a V6 like right now. I could be wrong, but idk, I feel like it’s unpredictable at this point with all the shenanigans going on.
