Yeah, the Toyota allocation process creates odd orders. I wanted a Lunar Rock 6MT OR with Army Green as my #2.

I'm "settling" for a Magnetic Grey TRD-Pro. Not many photos of Magnetic Grey, I'm hoping I end up liking it as much as the greens.

    Awesome!

It's going to be a nice "stealth" look, compared to the Electric Lime.

Anyone else's truck just sitting at the dealer lot because of the child safety belt recall? If my truck was still at port or at a logistics park i'd probably be less annoyed but damn, it's literally sitting there and the dealer can't sell it to me. My 1 week wait time promised by the dealership is now stretching into 2-3 months. I know a lot of you guys have waited much longer than that to get your trucks so this is kind of a stupid complaint on my part but damn! it's right there on the lot :frusty:

I feel ya pain, I’m at day 81 since the truck went into a hold. I should have jumped on another allocation but I didn’t realize it was going to drag on and on. There is end in sight. The fix is supposedly going to be ready before the end of the month I was told by Toyota. The best part I’ll never use the Latch System, but it is what it is:annoyed:

I’ve seen user names come and go on this thread getting their new trucks. Happy for everyone who gets them and can’t wait for my turn, which will come in due time. But seriously it’s like getting picked last at gym for football, pick me before I’m the last one standing

Hahah, no kidding! I feel like I butted in line at Disneyland. Two dealers told me 9-12 months for an allocation and I gave a third dealer a call and I told him I wanted a 6 speed and at least an off-road for the rear locker.

He told me, No off-roads, but I have a 6MT MGM TRD-Pro that isn't pre-sold going to be build in two weeks. I asked him if this was a joke. He said "nope, a gentleman had one on order and we put in the reservation and Toyota decided to send us two when the allocation was picked up."

So for no rhyme nor reason I got months ahead of the que. The cost for me, was $3k above MSRP. They were an MSRP dealer on anything but Pros. But since I wanted advanced tech anyway, and it was looking like I'd end up with a '23, if anything, I figured I probably didn't come out of it too bad.

If I'm stuck in Long Beach for a few weeks, I'll try not to get too annoyed, because many of you have waited far longer than I have.

“we put in the reservation and Toyota decided to send us two when the allocation was picked up.”

Does this mean Toyota at least attempts to match their allocations to customer orders at specific dealers? I thought it was a crap shoot and orders with a deposit were just a way to get 1st dibs if your dealer just happened to get your requested build. If they do try and match that would give me a glimmer of hope. Although I haven’t seen my desired configuration anywhere in the country on Autotrader.

I'm not 100% sure. I was under the impression dealers could "ask/request" certain trims, but the distributors have the end say. All I got was that one guy was waiting for a MGM TRD-Pro (with $500 deposit) and they were allocated two. The even got an electric lime TRD-Pro 4Runner without any reservation, the salesman asked if I knew anyone that wanted one. So maybe it's all just "luck of the draw" and I got really lucky.

My dealer said “Toyota tells us what we are going to get then we match orders to the allocation so this is going to be a very long involved wait if it ever happens”
