    Awe thank you!

    Now, I just need to figure out what snow tires would be best with these 18" wheels before the first frosts come in.

    Anyone on here also waiting for a June build to get delivered? It was built on June 7th and is traveling by truck but I'm not getting any answers from the dealer as to why it's being held up? Last week they insisted that it could be there any day, but they were saying that back in June. It's just strange because I keep seeing a lot of July builds getting delivered and this one is stuck. Anyone in a similar boat?

    Nah, two pedals for me. But my dealer has 6 pros listed as coming in and 4 do have manuals. I'm getting pretty stoked!

    Yep, June 4 build for me. Sounds similar, dealer knows nothing. A couple times he's said "any day now" only to update later that it'd been pushed out several more weeks. I just checked the Southeast Toyota site and it says Sept 9 now, really hope that's wrong.

    My deposit was 2k. Dealer acknowledged that it was a large deposit but since they were selling at MSRP they wanted serious buyers is what he told me. Basically wanted to avoid people putting deposits at multiple dealerships and not eventually buying a car with them.

    I didn't sign any papers at either delaership I put a deposit on (other place was $500). I probably should have though. Had no problem getting my deposit back at the $500 dealer besides the usually haggle with the salesman lol.

    @burntbass and @CrazySooner

    I’m in the southeast region, which Rod can’t check (because it’s a private distributor?), so the best I can do is an inventory search on the southeast regional page that a few have recommended:
    https://explore.setbuyatoyota.com/

    This is obviously specific to my region, which may not help you. It shows an available date, which sometimes changes, but not sure how accurate it is. In the past, it seemed to line up at least with the info from the dealership.

    Of the 2 dealerships I was working with, one required a $500 deposit + paperwork to submit an allocation request to Toyota (non-refundable if I backed out, but refundable if allocation not granted), and the other did not require any deposit/paperwork upfront but would have needed a $500 deposit to secure an allocation if one was received. I ended up buying my Tacoma from the first dealership so they just applied my deposit towards the purchase price.

    During my search I spoke with another dealer who charged a $1000 deposit, and a couple who asked for $2500 deposits, but $500 was the most common. I think a dealer asking for more than $500-1000 is potentially cause for concern. I would not pay more than that unless I trusted the dealer and the money was to secure an existing allocation (and not just to be placed on a waitlist).

    My dealer sent me a spec sheet with the exact vehicle/VIN and OTD price, and I put down a $500 deposit to hold it. Did it all by email, and got a photo of the receipt to nail it all down. Just waiting now.

    I was told by one dealer that they return deposits even if they secure the vehicle and you back out. Another only keeps them if they secure your life EXACT request and then back out. Both fair in my book. I’m sure there are some stories of dealers not refunding.
    Most have asked me for $500, but I am not comfortable making multiple deposits, both for cash flow reasons and the hassle of going back for multiple refunds. I did put a $1,000 down with an ‘order’ to the highest volume dealer in my area as I felt they would have the best chance at getting my request in their allocation. It’s fully refundable, no paperwork other than an email paper trail. But the dealer and specific agent I worked with are reputable.

    Definitely in the same boat. My Limited Nightshade had a scheduled build date of 5/28, actual was 6/13. Mine is through Southeastern Toyota. Their website currently says 9/26 for estimated arrival. Funny thing is, my dealer has another limited built much later than mine with a scheduled arrival of 9/6. Gonna be pretty pissed if the truck built a month after mine arrives a month before mine, arrrg.
