    A couple of weeks ago I posted I my dealer informed me of an allocation which meets my criteria; the vehicle is a fully tarted TRD Sport 6MT in Barcelona Red Metallic with a projected manufacture date between 29-Aug and 04-Sep and a delivery date in New England of mid-November; at the time I was told by my sales associate it would be a 2022 vehicle. Many folks chimed in telling me it would most likely end up being a 2023 due to the fact they had previously taken delivery of their new model year Tacoma's as early as October.

    This week I got my temporary VIN with an "N" in the 10th digit, which, if I'm not mistaken, means 2022; has anybody here received a temporary VIN with a "P" in the 10th digit?

    Hoping I get some kind of movement soon, I’ll call the dealer today and see what info they have, what a long winding road!

    Sounds like the first dealer will be flexible on the deposit and it's good that you have the refundability in writing. That's probably because MSRP dealers know these days they will have zero problems finding buyers, whether it's you or the 3 guys who call them the next day. And for the most part Toyota is allocating only what they want to produce, so it's not a situation where unpopular custom vehicles are being produced per customer preference where the deposit becomes more important to protect the dealer. It does seem that lower trade-in value is fairly common at MSRP dealers, so be sure to get a firm quote for your trade-in (or better yet complete your purchase) from the second dealer before cancelling your deposit at the first one, in case the second offer is even lower.

    You are lucky to live reasonably close to 2 MSRP dealers. There are 30 Toyota dealers in my greater metro area, and as of six months ago only 4 of them charged straight MSRP, but currently there is just 1 pure MSRP dealer: of the others, one began adding $2500-5000 ADM, one was small and got bought out by a markup chain, and one started requiring a $1600 paint protection package. The dealer I bought from started charging $2500-5000 markup in March, and even though I purchased in June I was able to pay MSRP since I originally requested the truck in February.

    Was told yesterday by my salesman that my Tacoma is scheduled to come off the assembly line late next week, but not holding my breath.

    Went to the website where you can check toyota recalls and put in my Vin# and the vehicle came up and said last updated 2 days ago, Aug 17. No idea what this means:annoyed:

    @Rod03

    I have been holding off asking because I don’t want to pester you every week, but my truck is a week past the quoted delivery date that my dealer gave me and nothing is showing on the app other than confirming there is a car made. No door unlocks. No miles no nothing.

    I am in TN so I don’t know if that is SE which you can’t see or not. Thank you sir for being the MVP of this thread.

    There are 600+ posts here, so is there a link to something that will allow us to check on the status of our ordered/allocated Tacomas??

    Thanks! What I neglected to say, is the dealer said end of Aug/early Sept and they will call me when it arrives.... hence my asking since I will be gone. Seems that call will be later than sooner.... at least a truck is heading my way it appears.

    Finally got a update on the app. 2 miles and a bit of gas. Hope that means it on the ship. Since it was at the port for 2 weeks now.

    South East Toyota is a separate entity, it has always been that way.
