3 business days after my scheduled build and no permanent VIN yet has got me puzzled.

@Rod03 - Can you please check to see if 3TYCZ5AN6NT31B228 shows as being built?

    Thanks and beers to follow!

Its a SE Toyota truck, I can only see the spec sheet with the build date. Which was 07/26.

My truck is showing on rail from San Diego to Princeton. 8/22-9/8. What state is Princeton in? Just wondering how far the truck transportation going to be. Anyone have an idea?

Are you unable to get precise information on the SE market?

Thanks for confirming. Hopefully the permanent VIN will drop any minute now.

Took delivery last Wednesday! Mine was one of the trucks built in Baja on June 4th that got mysteriously stuck there for months. No one could tell me why or an ETA. But it got here last week and was absolutely worth the wait!

Big shout out to @Rod03 for checking on the status and helping me feel more informed throughout the waiting period limbo. Thanks so much, kind sir!

My timeline (I found it helpful to see other people’s timeframes when I was waiting):
5/21 - put a deposit down on an allocated truck
5/27 - originally scheduled truck build date
6/4 - truck actually built, at Baja plant
[Months of confusion and lack of info, no one knowing why many trucks built on 6/4 specifically were stuck, while all the trucks built after were on the move, being shipped and delivered. I actually started a whole thread on here for those of whose trucks were built that day - we’ve all been waiting with no answers. At least we had each other? Lol]
8/8 - received multiple doors unlocked notifications on the Toyota app
8/13 - sales guy told me it was en route on a semi
8/17 - signed papers and drove truck home

That is a bit scary; not sure I would trust a dealership to do welding on my, truck particularly if it is sheet metal. Hopefully they line the trucks up and bring in a certified welder to do them in batches. Even then, weld going to burn the paint off both sides of what they’re welding on and require touch up paint.

The welds are inside the cabin of the truck for child latch system. Turns out the dealer said any fixes needed will be done at the port. I will never use the latch system but Federal law doesn’t allow new cars to be sold with a recall

Last we checked my Tacoma is to be built today. Now I have the Temp Vin from the allocation sheet the dealer gave me when I made my Pre-Sold Deposit!!

I have had no help or info from my salesman on any call to him, Hell he (salesman for 30+ years) even lied to me and said my Tacoma was to be built in Texas, when the Temp Vin plainly shows Mexico. "ALL" info that I have at this point has come from Rob03 (what a Great fellow he has been to us all)

My point to this latest rambling, is that I doubt seriously he'll furnish me a Permanent Vin so I can at least use the App to track my truck!

Tell him that you need the VIN so that you will be able to put the truck on your insurance policy. :bananadance:
