Alright got a call from the salesman today. They will have the truck I requested plus a few more options sometime around the first week of march. He said it’s should add around $1700 to the final price from what we originally agreed on. He’s supposed to send me the window sticker tomorrow, curious to see what it says.

I'm kind of in the same boat. There's about $1500 in options on mine, one I picked and two that the dealer says they do on every vehicle they sell. At first I was irritated, but at least I'm not paying thousands more for my Pro.

I’m kind of irritated about it but at the same time also growing impatient and it’s only been 2 months. If it’s $1700 worth of actual options I’m ok with it. If it’s just them fluffing the final price I’ll be pissed. Should get the price sheet today.

My local dealer was saying that their Market Adjustment was non-negotiable, but included a few options so that I was at least getting something out of the increase. Obviously, the options are going to be over priced. IIRC, it was mud guards, door protectors, ceramic paint protection, and a pin stripe (I've said I don't want that) for $2-2.5k. I don't have it in writing, of course - he refused to do that until the truck allocation was actually in the system because he said the market could change by then, for better or worse.

It's unfortunate that with the current inventory issues, it is very much a 'dealer market' and the customer can "get lost" if we refuse to pay a fee or try to negotiate. The curse - and benefit - of capitalism, supply & demand.

So I’ve got a post earlier in this thread explaining but so far how my deal has went. I put a $500 non refundable deposit down on 12/8 for a bare bones DCSB TRDOR MT MGM. They quoted me otd price at $41,755. The only added option I selected when building was the floor mats as that’s the only option that can’t be deselected. Once I get the VSPEC later today and get the truck confirmed as mine I’ll post and let y’all take a look at the prices and options.

do you have to pay sales tax where you live? Otherwise that’s a great OTD price from what I have seen

I guess this is as good as any for my first post. Around 3 weeks ago I started looking for a new truck. I was pretty set on a Colorado and Build and Priced one. Reached out to a few dealers and there were none in with the specs I wanted. However accurate the Chevrolet search is there wasn't any within 2k miles. I was also told that they weren't taking orders for the extended cab at the moment, in my area at least.

I had also built a Tacoma and sent out for a quote at the closest dealer, which I really don't remember doing that lol, but a few days later a salesman emailed a VSPEC with a Tacoma that has a build date of 1/24 and would be delivered at the dealership in 2-3 weeks. So I put the refundable $500 deposit down and now am waiting. The truck is a black SR5 v6 4x4 access cab with a few options that are good enough for me.

Then a 80 2wd , 85 4x4 extra cab 4cyl manual (bad ass truck should of never sold) 86 4x4 long bed, 1985 2wd, x2 84 2wd 2000 4x4 reg cab, then my last was my 99 2wd extra cab … loved them all

yes that price was with state tax included. I did A LOT of calling around talking to different dealerships making sure I wasn’t getting overcharged. This dealership is local to me and I also am a returning customer to them. I bought a 2018 TRDOR from them as well. They aren’t charging anything over msrp outside of the factory add ons, delivery fee, taxes and registration.

Yassss!!! I almost put down $7K above MSRP for a Pro. That just didn’t sit well with me. I’m glad G26 got his at MSRP.

At the dealer as I type. Getting exactly what I want for MSRP. Build date of Feb 12 and delivery should be first or second week of March.

Yes you are 100% right, dealers market for sure and we all know how honest and reputable those clowns are. We also have a Bronco order in since last Oct but there are horror stories on the Bronco forum of guys that have waited for 18 months then the dealer tries to charge $10-15k ADM and is fine with people walking, just nuts right now!

I just tried to put a deposit on a pre order In Georgia . That dealer said they wouldn’t sell to out of state buyers. I said for preorders? Or just any car on your lot. He said “just in general”. I’ve never heard of such crap. I’m in Tennessee.

This is the gist I got while looking around. The farther away from my home area I called, the more money they stacked on.

Called a dealer in Texas, they had very close to what I wanted. Told the dude I'd come out and buy it as soon as I could get a flight. That is when his tone changed because I'm from the People's Republic of New Jersey. Flat out added something like 15k to the price. Something about never seeing the vehicle for service..

Yeah so to tack on to what some of these guys have said. I’m in Memphis Tennessee and called dealers as far as Colorado and Pennsylvania as soon as they hear you are from out of state they add ok thousands. I assume they either think you are BSn or they think you have the money and are willing to spend. The two other local dealers I went to literally told me Toyota doesn’t allow orders you take what comes on the lot. Third local dealership was the jackpot so far in my case.

I called a dealer out of state that had inbound allocations and they said they only sell at MSRP but I would have to come in person to put a deposit down. They said they want to serve their local customer base instead of having 0 inventory. I respect that position honestly.

So we have a lot of people who ‘ordered’ one but really only reserved something already allocated to the dealer. How long have people waited for non allocation stock?

It depends on what you’re after. Most dealers aren’t dealer trading anymore so it’s really just luck of the draw. The lead times dealers give these days appear to be broad estimations, which I assume just represents the amount of allocation cycles they expect it would take to see one come through. My experience across the dozen dealers I’ve called is that they receive what they receive, they have no idea beforehand what they’ll get, and they all of course hope to get my truck so they can be the ones to get my money.

For instance, it took me 2 cycles (technically 3 as I missed a OR by a day on allocation 1 which I was late to) to come across a trail or a TRD OR w/ tech package and LEDs. Of my desired colors of AG, Black, LR. And I gave my info to ~13 dealers and told them to call me if they got anything matching my specs.

The wait times here will vary a ton. A lot of people with long quoted wait times are only working with only one dealer either out of ignorance to the system, their only local dealer due to remote location, or it’s by far the best dealer price in their region and they’re willing to stay patient to save some money (me).

It of course is also based on trim and color. An electric lime Pro seeker will wait much longer than a silver SR5 2WD seeker.
