My dealership told me today that it was scheduled to arrive at port in Jacksonville Florida on 9/28. And he states I would get the permanent VIN at that time. And then it would be another 7-10 days until arrival where I’m picking it up at the Wilmington NC dealership

Getting close! Arrived at the rail yard 2 days ago. A 22 day train ride, much longer than Toyota estimated. Waiting (impatiently) for door unlock notifications which I HOPE will indicate someone is putting it on a truck for the final 2 hour leg of the trip.

Was wondering if you could be so kind.....trying to get this week planned out with work. Wondering if 3TYCZ5AN8NT100138 made it onto a rail car. Thank you so much in advance and I hope to not be a bother to you for to much longer :D

As I understand it, those of us with 6MT models do not get the door unlock update.

Do the notifications really provide anything of use other than verified existence ?I’ve had a couple notifications from the app quite a while back. Every 2 weeks on a Monday I get a call from the dealer saying it will be here in 2 weeks. I don’t really need it now, but I’ll likely call it quits by the end of October.

There was a lot of nothing for me and I thought it was broken seeing I was getting no notifications. The trucksat for all most full month then out of the blue I received door unlocked notifications throughout the morning and turns out the truck had magically moved from the port in Mexico and now is somewhere in California up by San Francisco. For me notifications mean things are happening...one thing that changed before a alert was the odometer.

You can use the door unlock notifications to kind of surmise where your truck is. In my case the first notification lined up with catching the ship on the departure date I honed in on. I had “proof” of it likely being onboard a few days before the Toyota system updated.

Would be nice if they also allowed the truck to show up on the map....that would put Rod03 out of business though

And my watch has officially ended…

    Timeline:.
July 23 Deposit made on a week 31 allocation.
    Aug 18 build date.
    Sep 6 departed Vera Cruz.
Sep 15 touched ground in Newark.
Sep 19 arrived at dealership and currently in my driveway.

Been a fun couple of weeks since my son got his license and commandeered my Forester leaving me car-less on most days. Really grateful for this forum and the insights shared here and the constant help from Rod03 providing updates. Driving her home it definitely feels worth the wait although the Toyota Finance half point rate hike this month caught me by surprise. That’s how 2022 car buying rolls I guess….FA531183-730E-46E6-A5E3-0DE87B3D80B7.jpg

Called Tuesday to see if they had want I wanted coming and they did and it wasn't reserved. I picked up Friday. No allocation request, sometimes you just get lucky. 2022 Tacoma in Lunar rock, access cab, manual transmission. Drove from Wisconsin to Indianapolis, just MSRP, no bs fees.

Sharp truck, exactly what I’m getting (except the manual transmission). Are those the 5in oval black tube steps? I’m getting those as well.

Thanks those are the OEM oval steps. He said they are nicer than the other ones they come with, not sure what the other ones even are. Haha
