    Today must be the day for notifications; my Tacoma reached the port of Veracruz on 23-Sep exactly 14 days ago, and today the odometer popped up from 2 to 3, I'm guessing it finally got on a boat. :)

    Congrats to those of you who have been able to purchase a 2022 without getting taken for a ride. My 2022 is scheduled to come in next week, BUT...
    I went into the dealership a couple days ago to sign the papers and they lowered my trade value by $3,000. Yes, I know the used market has changed, but not by 3k in 2 mos. These guys are such slime-balls. Its not that they lowered my trade value, but, that they overinflated it when I was leaving the deposit. They just wanted to make sure they took my 1k deposit and figured they could get away dropping the trade value later once I had been anticipating for 2 months. I walked out of the dealership and was refunded my deposit. They wouldn't budge $1. If I told you all the other stuff they tried, this post would be too long.

    HOWEVER, I still have my 2019 4D 4X4 quicksand (which I love). I was only trading it in because they originally (10 mos ago) offered me as much in trade as I payed for it. In hindsight I should have sold it to them and then waited for a 2022. BTW I waited for 6 mos for one dealer who couldn't produce a 2022 and then went to the more recent one. Also, my 2022 was going to have a 6ft bed.

    I HATE stealerships.

    That really sucks. Too late, I know, but you could have gotten numbers from carmax, etc, for realistic values. I know that the value of my truck has gone down in the past few months. The market is softening.

    Yeh, I know about the Carmax etc... I had printout from KBB and NADA and they wanted nothing to do with it. The kbb and NADA I selected GOOD condition, not even excellent, and my 2019 is flawless. AND I'm in FL which means I don't have to pay sales tax on the trade amount. I think I lose that if I sell to Carmax. That can be worth $2k right there.
    I think I'll wait for them to start labelling 2023 and see what happens... but maybe I just need to just rekindle my relationship with my 2019... perhaps its time to start shopping cool stuff to add to it.

    I think I got lucky. I wanted metallic gray double cab 4x4 with manual transmission and XP package. I randomly went by the dealership and that exact truck was on the lot. SOLD.
