How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Picked mine up on Saturday! A little under 3 months from start to finish

 

Happy day! I just picked up my TRD Sport, 6MT, with Premium, LED, and Advanced Tech packages.





I just realized, you can see my old 2006 Acura TL 6MT in the background.

I remember waiting for mine. Almost exactly a year ago I put one on reserve. One month later it was mine. Those of you who are currently anxiously waiting, hang in there. It’s going to be worth it!!!

 

Story time!
Was looking for lunar rock trd or in MT with adv tech and premium package, couldn't get any in westren Washington for MSRP and tried in yakima and put depist and no allocation since last 10 months and spokane said they don't sell outside spokane residents. So randomly was browing dealers in Chicago area since I have family there and found one at Schaumburg toyota and same story sell for msrp but not to non residents so called elgin toyota on sep 30th and the one had no adv tech package but sales guy called me back on Oct 1st and said it's allocated to them and built on Oct 1st exactly what I want. They even offering discount on msrp and was so excited seeing but then sales guys started telling the otherside story which is adding BS packages worth of 5k and finally I made a deal for msrp and no additional accessories and he gave me the vin and it's in transit and showing delivery between Nov 3 and 8th and as rod03 said last it showed in Texas and I am excited to drive my first ever truck back to snohomish WA.

Short story:
I happened to drive by the dealer on a late Saturday afternoon and they had the truck I wanted in my second choice of color on the lot. I made the deal sold my truck to my nephew the next morning and drove off with a.....wait for it. Celestial Silver TRD 4x4 Off Road Crew cab. Truly happened to be in the right place at the right time, the salesperson was a graduate of the school where I work. I'm happy with my purchase and the process.

Long story:
Gonna kinda chronicle my journey. I had been waiting on my purchase for months. Basically waited all summer to see if the "dealer mark ups" would go away or the 2023's would come out. One dealer here in So Cal told me they have a mark up of $7K but he would hook me up and bring it down to $4K, another told me that i could request a truck with the specs I wanted with $2000 down but I would have to put on a bunch of options that didn't want or need, and if I waited for the truck to come in and they put it on the lot i would have to pay a $8000 mark-up(he called it something else) but that would be offset by discounts on other options they were going to put on the truck, that didn't want or need. I did consider an $8500 mark up but it included a lift kit, upgraded tires, dash cam and pro wheels(I think)my thought was at least they are offering something(and maybe worth it if you factor in the cost of labor at the dealer), but decided no thanks I had a 2014 that was paid off, running great and still looked good. I told the wife that i was gonna check out a local dealer that had trucks on their website with the very common "call/check for availability". They had one white TRD OR Double Cab but had added a $10K wheel/lift package, so i took a pass. On the way home decided to swing by a local Toyota dealer that normally doesn't have much on the lot stock. To my surprise they had some new trucks, I pulled over to check them out, one Trail Edition, bunch of access cabs, few TRD Sports, and lo and behold 2 TRD OR Double cabs that had just come in on allotment. I told the salesman that i was looking for this exact truck in white but he Celestial silver looked nice in the evening light. Had him make me an offer on mine, told him that was way too low. I had done my research on KBB, they came back with a number. I told them I was going to offer the truck to my godson for that price and if he accepted i'd be back in the morning with a check or with my trade in. told them to sell if they got a buyer in the meantime. Made the deal, met my godson in the am, took the $$$ to the dealer and drove off in my new truck. I'm happy and he is an extremely happy 20yo who got a great deal on a well maintained truck that is going to last him quite a while or at least he completes his academy and starts making real money. Sorry(not sorry) for the long post, but heck you could have chosen to read the short version, or skip it all together.

I can only see the spec sheet on this one, looks like the build date was 10/04.

Nothing is coming up with the VIN it may already be build and need the permanent.
