You’re gonna get lowballed by every Toyota dealer. I’ve been wanting to trade my 22 MGM M/T for a Solar Octane M/T and I finally found one like a month ago and they offered me $45k and wouldn’t budge. I then walked over to one of the nicer used car lots and asked them what they would give me….I then showed my sales guy the bill of sale below and laughed in his face because had they given me the $48.5 I was asking for it was still like $8 or $9k under allowance which means the sales guy would have made a nice $3k commission.

Go look at what a premium used lot would give you, or even a shady buy here pay here lot would give you…it’ll probably be close to, or better than the out the door price of the new one you’re after

Honestly in New York it would work out the same because paying 8% tax on the whole price without a trade would be $4000 so trading you only pay tax on the difference. Either way if you want to play you got to pay. Did you get your solar octane? They started with $45,000 and I shook the salesman hand said can't do it and was going to get up and go. He said let me go talk to manager and came back with 46,000.

I did end up getting the solar octane….although it’s been stuck at the port for the last month. Tax is 8% here in WA as well so the out the door for the Solar Octane was like $53,500 or something and I got $55.2k for my MGM so I was definitely happy with the transaction lol especially since I was ready to put some money down on top of mine originally with a trade and tax credit. I got payed to play

Well congrats on finding a buyer for 55,000. At least after tax your straight sale didn't cost you much.

I traded a2021 4runner pro with 4K miles for a new 22 4runner lime pro for difference in msrp. So a msrp to msrp deal about 3k wife wanted blind spot and liked the color. I’d do the same makes it real easy they then sold my 2021 for 63k about 9k over the msrp

That works. Thanks for posting this. I ordered my truck on July 25th and got the call from my dealer last week that it will be here in 30-45 days. The date on the website you posted shows Jan 6th. :D

Found this little gem yesterday. I highly recommend using this site to find out some useful information on your vehicle.

Dealers you are buying from will always lowball you because they'll pull the sales tax bs. Like yeah we are offering you a lot less but you'll save 4k in sales tax. That's sales tax you already paid. That's your money not theirs. Don't fall for it. It's like the bogus EV rebates once those passed a few months back Ford GM and everyone else raised their prices the same amount what a coincidence.

I don't disagree with you. If I could sell my truck for what I paid that still would make me pay sales tax again and not really recoup it from the first time buy. It is ridiculous but no matter what if the deal is not right I am in a great truck right now and have no problem staying in it until market swings back and interest rates drop.

Unfortunately toyota-tracker.com says my VIN "isn't available for tracking". I'll check back later.

The explore.setbuyatoyota.com that was posted on the previous page did recognize my VIN and gives an estimated delivery of Jan 6.

If you are in the South East I think it has something to do with their tracking system being different than most others.

I appreciate the response and I am in the South East. If anyone knows how I can track it, I'd be happy to do it myself. These trackers would save Rob a bunch of questions too. I'm trying to only bug him every few weeks, LOL.

I'm in the same boat, my friend. Been tracking since November 16th. Getting very frustrating knowing the truck is just sitting somewhere waiting to be loaded onto a vehicle. Especially since they keep getting new vehicles in but no Trucks. Every one that is supposedly coming in with mine has been sold as well. Not sure if its just a waiting issue or if someone has screwed up.
