How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Thanks! In your experience does 63 days mean “at least 63 days”, “no longer than 63 days”, or totally random?

 

Do you have a VIN number? It’s highly likely it’s on the same 63 day hold as the rest of ours.

 

Your truck was built 10 days before mine put on hold 3 days after mine but still says the same random 63 days so I’m guessing it’s random

 

Also interesting that mine was built the same day and at the same plant as the guy who says his dealer is saying his is off hold and will be ready to pickup Wednesday. Both lunar rock off roads.

 

I truly don't have any more insight into how long any of these vehicle holds will last than anyone else on the board. I never make any representations or promises to my customers because I simply don't know.

My dealer manager said they will have an update Monday. Used to be every Friday after 12pm but that designation has disappeared from dealer daily. Do you have any insight it’s this or the hold that’s happening @DragonPro23? It went from a 30 day hold to 63 days in a week.

Is there any way for a customer to directly contact Toyota about these issues? I hate directing all of my frustrations at the dealership since I realize there’s not much info they have or much they can do about it. I tried calling the “brand engagement” number and it was useless.

I’m not trying to be a jerk to anyone about it. I understand delays happen, but if I’m paying $40k-$50k for a truck I feel like I have the right to know why it’s on hold and when they intend to have it sorted out.

 

From my experience your dealer has absolutely no idea what is going on either.

 

Mines a lunar rock offroad as well. Is that the trend ? Is it all lunar off roads ?

 

Definitely not just lunar rocks. My dealer is saying it is all Tacomas. I think lunar rock off roads are just popular so we are seeing that pop up more.

 

I’d love to know what’s up with it though for sure that it’s being held back. Like you said if we are paying for these things they should be transparent with what the issue is.

I’m in a bit of a cynical mood about it right now, but the reality is they don’t care if we’re upset about the lack of transparency. They are selling trucks faster than they can make them. Why should they care if you or I are mad. What are we going to do? Pull out our deposit? They’ll still just sell it to someone else before it ever hits a lot.

 

You can call Toyota Corporate and they will refer you back to your dealership. They won’t have anymore information to give you than the dealership. Speaking from my 125 day hold. They are both extremely tight lipped, so frustrating

 

Yep. That was the problem I had. Toyota Corporate says to talk to the dealer and the dealer says to talk to Toyota Corporate. So frustrating.

Last time I ordered a Toyota, it was my 2009 RAV4. I was surprised when it arrived 3wks early. Don't remember any other details except that it came from Japan, but that's ancient history.
