They provide an extra key because it’s easier to use for the tailgate. The first year or two of the third gen, the door and tailgate were actually keyed differently and not interchangeable. That was remedied in the 2nd or 3rd model year for gen 3.

My dealer in the Austin area just told me 5/21 - 5/27 for it to arrive. @Oskie_78 this might be helpful to you as well.

Dealer called and mine is ready for pickup!!! Of course it's going to be impossible to get there to get it this weekend...I am paying cash and have to move some money around. Hadn't done it yet because it wasn't going to be here for 3 weeks according to the last tracking. Anyone know if I were to finance it then immediately pay it off would I incur and fees or interest? That's about the only option I can think of.

Congrats! You should be ok with paying if off right away with no penalties. I don't know but it might be easier to finance through Toyota motor financing I am pretty sure there is no early payoff issues. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but these days most banks to not have any restrictions. DragonPro23 will know the answer better than I since he is in the business.

BTW, I see you r in NKY area. What dealer are you buying from?

Well I am actually buying with cash so not financing it just will take a few days to move money around to write the check (transferring between banks - I don't have checks for my savings account)

I am buying it from Toyota South in Richmond KY. The dealers up here had people in line and none allocated yet. Found the one down there in production with no one in line. It's a 6MT so was very unlikely I was going to get one waiting behind other people.

Right, but you asked about financing it then paying it off right away. Sounds easier than moving shit around, etc. The interest you would accure would be very minimal. I have never done that on a new car, but just did it on a Yamaha motorcycle. It was an out of state deal, so it was just easier to finance it then pay it off a few weeks later.

Truck (2023 Access Cab TRD off-road) arrived at the dealer just waiting for all the parts I ordered to get installed. Thanks so much @DragonPro23 took less than a month from build to delivery, judging from others here I got lucky.

right on I thought you had interpreted it that I was financing externally. My bad. Did you have to pay any loan origination fees.

I checked my paperwork and I did not see any origination fee/s with Toyota Motor Finance.

I might just be patient until your cash settles internally. Unless you think the car is at risk of being sold to another customer, wait. Lots of dealerships make a sizeable portion of their profits on loan origination. Banks are wary of them "cooking" the loan. They will do everything they can to pass the fees to you. Slow and steady...

I don’t really think the truck is at risk. I think you are right. Less variables. I can’t get to the dealer for about a week anyways.

Looks like you’re in Canada. I have no info available for Canadian market vehicles.

Yes - it’s the same as if I enter a Canada build, different model number, no pricing or shipping info.
