Could you run my VIN? I'm anxiously awaiting my first Toyota. Just got off the phone with the dealer and it's been delayed for the third time. Now he says 30 day hold with no date.
I'd happily buy you a cup of coffee.

And just like that my hopes are dashed lol. I'd gotten several vehicle unlock notifications the other day and hoped it'd made one of the ships that just arrived in Texas. Here's to hoping it makes the next batch. Thanks, Dragon!

    Thanks DragonPro!

Sitting more than a week at Lazaro Cardenas. Dealer said it would be be about one week wait. Talked to another person at the dealer and they said about a month after build date...which seems more realistic.

DragonPro, Could you run this VIN one more time just for giggles: VIN 3TYDZ5BN2PT025510

I'd be curious to see what it says or where it says it is. This same thing just happened to me. Got a call that the truck was held up for 'QC' (1 month). Little different from what I saw as most of the QC hold ups seemed to occur at port or just as they crossed the border (in SD or Houston). This one should be in IL. Any idea what the 'QC' issue is? Specific quality control issue? Is there something we should look for or double check when taking possession? Issues at the Mexican plants? Or something more sinister like Toyota playing games moving around limited stock shipments (lol)?

At any rate, thanks for the info here. It makes everything that ends up happening make more sense. If you had never heard of this stuff you'd be pulling a total WTF.

Definitely shows a "Quality Control" hold. Unfortunately, I don't have any more insight than you do regarding what they are looking for. Sometimes, I think they just pick some VINs at random to take a closer look at build quality.

Just got the same QC hold news today - placed a deposit in March and am (not so) patiently waiting for my truck. Glad to see similarities across this thread otherwise I might have gone crazy by now. Also, I found some more info on QC holds in a thread on a Tundra forum:

"Long story short Toyota sends out Local Engineers in your region to go to either dealerships and rail yards to perform work on Toyota vehicles that require specifics that your mechanics cannot do.

In our cases the QC holds are because there is a quality or materials or software upgrade/fix from Toyota that became active after the ship date. In my case it was a back up camera issue that had to have a software fix. I told the engineer that my back up camera update could have easily been done by my local Toyota mechanic and the engineer said that it falls under the NTSB regulations that once the vehicles leave the plant they cannot to be sold / released until all vehicles meet the NTSB requirements." - https://www.tundras.com/threads/ship-hold-vs-qc-hold.119013/

Keep us updated on your timeline. Hopefully it doesn't take the full month for either of us.
