Question for the folks financing an allocated Tacoma. I’ve only purchased vehicles from dealers that were already on the lot; never bought one that was being built. I’ll be financing a little under half of my 2023 that’s been built and is in transit. At what time are you all doing the finance paperwork? We’ve already hashed out the numbers as far as price goes. My Tacoma was scheduled to depart by rail today based on info DragonPro provided yesterday so it may be a couple weeks at least before it arrives. I’d like to go ahead and lock in the financing details but the timing of everything is new to me. Appreciate any relevant insight.

If you signed a sale sheet with agreed price(s) when you put a deposit down, that should be final sale and trade numbers. Dealer shoulda already ran your credit and approved you. When you take possession you’ll sign papers with agreed price, taxes, tags, etc and Toyota financing or your own bank financing. Then the dealler’ll hand you keys and away you go. ~4-6 weeks later they’ll expect the first of your x month payments. Welcome to indebted servitude. Your a full blooded debt bearing American now. Stopped at dealership this morning to find out why the truck that had my name on it is still in Mexico when 2 other identical trucks are about 2 weeks out. He checked and said we can swap the truck in transit can be mine. Awesome!

Lots of delays are due to the current recall on the wire harness/driver air bag. An estimated 110,000 vehicles are affected.

 

Well supposed to be built one week from now. Getting closer. Hopefully being a bottom of the line SR 2wd 4cyl (0 Tech) it won’t experience any of the delays. We will see how it all unfolds.

For me, as soon as the truck was confirmed on the boat from Mexico, we sealed the deal and signed the paperwork. The reserve deposit and pricing was agreed upon well before then. All I need is the truck...that's still sitting at port a mere hour away from the dealer

And on that note, does anyone know what it might mean if the delivery date (to the dealer) is pushed back a day, every day? Estimated delivery is within the next few days, only to get pushed back a day every morning in an update from DD. The VIN doesn't show as being recalled.
