Are you colorado? If sooo. DEFINITELY call McDonald Toyota in Greely. No markup and they seem to be cleaning up the tacoma market locally.. they have 22 tacomas in inventory right now!
    Ask for Erin

Our Fort Collins toyota dealer has 5 trucks, they charge markup, and they are smugg colorado front range pricks

Here's the thing.... if the Taco you placed a deposit on is EXACTLY, what you want... I myself would be inclined to wait. Not to many people are coming across that. Lots of concessions in this thread. Hell, I made a few. Like you I wasn't in a rush. I had a larger list of what I didn't want it to have, than what I wanted it to have. Accompanied by a few things if it didn't have I'd be cool with.

Was between a Sport and OR by the way.

LEDs, tech pack, 4wd had been the must haves.

Leather, MGM, MBM, Silver, Blue had been absolute no-nos.

MTS, Crawl control, and transmission, would be happy either way. Locker would have been nice, but I honestly would rarely use it.

The rest of it, it's just add ons. Skid plate, wheels, all bullshit that everyone changes to suit their individual tastes.

I will say, if I bash my shins on those god damn predator steps one more time, they are going in the dumpster. Had the truck since Friday afternoon, and ive smashed them 4 or 5 times.

Oh, and the stupid chin strap is going as soon as I find a deal on a TRD skid. Makes the truck look like this.

If it drags on I might be flexible on color, but the fact I had a 2021 that had everything I wanted that I simply stumbled upon (sitting on a lot; it got totaled with <1000 miles) has made me less willing to capitulate.

I’ll keep humming in my head that patience is a virtue.

They currently have 4 TRD OR, and they all sticker out over 45k. I've honestly only run into a few in the wild that have that many options, so I wonder if that's part of their strategy to swap for the most expensive trucks? Or could just be a coincidence.

Also this is in their fine print:
"Excludes tax, tag, title and registration fees. Dealer documentation fee of $699 is not included in the MSRP, Advertised Price, or SmartPrice."

Which appears to be a supplemental $700 surcharge.

All of theirs are autos. Manual only here. I wasn’t a fan of the auto I owned and has a ‘21 MT. Much nicer.

I have deposits at Groove & Interstate ($1,000 and $500 respectfully; both refundable) since 11/13/21 and Pedersen as of last week ($1,000 refundable).

Interstate has offered me 2 so far: a lunar rock MT and army green MT (both bare bones w/ Offroad).

No worries! Thanks for the kind words, glad my dog and I survived unscathed. Could’ve been much worse.

Yes, both from Interstate Stapp Toyota north of denver. MSRP + dealer fee. The AG is my preference but lacked several things I wanted. I think the LR is still on their website. FYI I had deposits down on a MT build since November so it’s possible they’ve been triaged down the list.

Jesus tap dancing christ.. you both walked away from that, that is amazing. After seeing that really glad you are both OK.

I drive like an old man normally, but when doggo is in the car, extra careful. I'd be lost without that pooch. She loved my Nissan, hoping she likes riding in the Taco.

It is a supplemental charge, but every dealer has a Doc fee. That has been standard practice for as long as I have been buying vehicles. Different states have different laws on how much a dealer can charge.

I’m sure she’ll love it! My dog only got about 30 min of taco time (she was riding with my wife in her car mostly).

backstory is: I bought the taco to pull a trailer and move from MD back to Denver. A box truck cut me off and slammed on his breaks and w/ a trailer the taco just wouldn’t stop. I can still feel that moment realizing It wasn’t going to stop.

I def would’ve done things differently with hindsight, but not much I could’ve done being cut off and immediately having to break — no time to put distance. Guy also stopped for no reason.

only upside is he was assigned 80% fault.

salt in the wound was that I had just installed metal tech sliders the week prior, but because the accident happened in MO in route to Colorado, there was no feasible way to retrieve them despite being undamaged.

I hate that feeling when you can relive a wreck. My only major wreck was in 2005, totaled the first new car I ever bought. Ever since then intersections with traffic light metered left turns on both sides, make me extraordinarily nervous. It's specific, but it's just the way it works. I have a permanent Nike symbol carved into my skull because of it.

Also back in 2009 I lost my Shortbed 2005 Sierra 4.3L manual after being rear ended. I still have some lingering pain from that whiplash.

Anyways, last Friday I placed a deposit on this Taco that is expected to come in late March. After the last snow storm, and the ARE shell that my parents put on their 2007 Prerunner DBLB. I have a real need to have something fun to take out to the desert and the mountains here.

Hopefully Nike is paying you royalties! I’m 31, and this is the first non-cosmetic accident I was in. It definitely was a new experience with a flashback component. Having to unload our belongings in a junkyard and then pickup a Uhaul truck and continue driving the same day was wild I now frown upon all things uhaul.

Very nice Pathfinder! We had a 2003 Chilkoot Edition. Was a excellent family vehicle for 15 years. Kids loved it. Kids love the new Tacoma even more. and your Dog will love the Tacoma. What dog doesn't love trucks.

Like the old US Nissan commercials...

    "Dogs love trucks"

It was a great car, it was just time. MPG had fallen hard, and was staring some major repairs in the face with 175k on it. Thing was essentially trouble free from the day I bought it, up until this past August. Probably the last good Nissans in that Era.
