Dumb questions: but first time buy a new truck ever.

I am planning on using my own Credit Union for Financing. My salesperson wants me to fill out and loan application through their dealership.
Do I need/have to do that?

My sales person should give me the full pricing on the truck including any TTL and fees before I contact my credit union for financing correct?

Pretty standard from my experience to also do their loan application, often they wont actually run it until you are making the purchase. They may try to match your outside financing. Last time I purchased in 2016 I had cap one pre-approval, but Toyota financial services could not match my cap one rate at the time.

Anyone have an idea on how long on average from build date until delivery in the Chicagoland/Midwest area?

been getting a lot of recommendations for Longo Toyota but I'm guessing the waitlist is super long now. Anyone buy from them in the last couple months?

I'm in central Minnesota. My 2022 had a build date of 01/03/2022 and I picked it up from St Cloud Toyota on 01/29/2022. I ordered it in early December, the whole thing went pretty quick.

I'm in KC, so fairly close. Mine was built on 1/24 and today I finally got a delivery ETA of 2/21-2/28.

There's a White 2022 TRD Pro M/T available in NorCal with $4995 markup. Sales guy reached out to me. I am not keen on white though.

Bro, even at MSRP, I can't do an auto. I just can't.

I really do appreciate the offer though because I know we both want that unicorn! I think you might recall I found one in Sheridan, Wyoming but they were asking for $7K markup and there was absolutely NOTHING with that markup. At least this one they're calling it their Paint Protection Package (certainly not worth $5K but it's something).

I think I'm gonna enjoy my '22 BR Sport DCSB M/T for a bit. I've added the TRD Pro Wheels/KO2 Tires and the factory TRD Lift. It's a beaut.

I also know deep inside I will find that unicorn at MSRP but likely in '23.

Again, thank you! But please let's PM as we plot in getting our unicorns! Seriously. I already know that's my next, and hopefully, final vehicle.

The sales guy literally sent me a sign-off sheet a moment ago! I'm about to tell him no, but if there are any takers, let me know now or forever hold your peace. ;)

You and I are the same. I have a 22 lunar rock MT and I’m waiting for a 22 Pro MT that’ll hopefully be my last truck. I got lucky with the 22 because a dealer offered to trade for my very troublesome 21 for like $300 on top.

Went by my local dealership yesterday, based upon someone's suggestion here that things may move faster than calling if you're in-person. This was true. Went ahead and talked numbers. MSRP promised. Got them to give me just a few hundred under what I was offered from CarMax for my car, which was 2k higher than vroom and Carvana, so happy for sure on my trade in value. Filled out a loan app and came back with a score of 850, yet they only offered me 4.9%. Not gonna lie, I was offended but didn't bat an eye, but am laser focused on the line items on my build sheet going forward. I'll use the high % rate as leverage to keep add-ons off then refinance once I finally get the truck. Also, I finished Grad school last year and brought my diploma so they could make a copy. Read all the fine print I could and I don't see any pay-off penalties anywhere for the college grad offer or for using Toyota Financial.

I'm still getting used to the idea of doing all of this just to get in line for a truck. Normally I'd have that truck sitting in my driveway right now. crazy times.
