Was not aware there was an app for our trucks. I'm assuming us lowly SRs don't get this feature or my dealer didn't care to explain.

The app is pretty much useless if you have a manual trans. The only real thing you can do is look at your tire pressure. The "find" tab has never worked for me. It never actually shows where my truck is.

The app does absolutely nothing for me. MT and no TPMS. I set up the app and found it doesn't do anything of any value so it got deleted. Constant notifications annoy the hell out of me. All notifications for everything but texts and phone calls I have turned off, otherwise I'd be getting notifications every couple of minutes! It's for people who think they are so important that they need to know about everything all the time, I'm not that important.

I'm 71 yrs old so I do not live by my phone. Now to be truthful, he offered to set up my phone for me so I let him. Would have taken me forever to do it. I remember him telling me the Sirius trial would run out but don't remember the app having a 1 yr free trial period. He probably did tell me but I don't remember. Is that for the entire app or just the remote start?

Looking online, looks like the remote start option is $80 a year after the free trial period. The rest is 10 years but I don't see a cost after that trial. Ahhhhhh NO!

I bought my truck used, so the trial period had expired. The dealership wanted to set up my phone / app but also wanted my credit card info to complete the subscription billings. With as little as I drive my truck, with it being in my garage 99%+ of the time, and having an aversion to subscription services that seem to get more expensive all the time and can be a pain to cancel, I declined having the app / subscription set up by the dealer. I did download the app to see what it would do without the "connected services," which was pretty-much nothing - it wouldn't even show maintenance appointments (my annual oil change) not made through the app. From what I can see, at least with my truck / my driving habits, there just wasn't enough value to justify the costs.

Now that's funny. But nope, it won't care.

Just delete the app if you don't want the 'features' anyway, or wouldn't pay to continue when the freebe expires

I've heard your Dr may use it to monitor your bathroom habits if you're over 55. Along with various other parties that are interested in your life.

Don't blame it on being old. Blame it on being an app that Toyota wants revenue from. Like being the 'call waiting' of the automotive world. Almost as stupid as their nav system you have to pay to update maps with when there are lots of free options out there.

Between $8 and $16 per month depending on what options you want.

I have a 2023 TRD Pro 6MT, so a lot of features do not apply to me. However I like looking at my tire pressure, fuel level and odometer when needed. I also log my maintenance and look at my owners manual when away from my truck. I have destination assist for 1 year, which I have never used. I will have navigation for 3 years which I might miss a bit, because it works through satellites rather than cell service that might not be available (CarPlay) — but I will not pay a subscription fee when it ends. I find the app useful enough on its own, but each to their own taste.

Interesting at first b/c my ‘18 didn’t have it. Door lock reminders/tire pressure are convenient, but I’m already forgetting I have the app so the novelty is apparently wearing off quickly. Not sure I’d bother paying Toyota to tell me my doors are unlocked when the trial ends.

Drive Pulse is an odd tool to stalk yourself. Somehow my scorecard shows 60+ “harsh cornering” events, and only 3 “fast acceleration”, so of course feel free to unleash the 4.0 vs 3.5 jokes…

I use it to quickly check the air pressure of my tires since my display doesn't show that. I do still use a manual guage but to quickly ensure i don't have a leaking tire i use the ap for that

It retraces routes & rates your overall “driving behavior” based on turning, accelerating, and braking. Another item I wouldn’t pay for, and easy to opt out.

It is sophisticated enough to make you wonder if in the near future you’ll potentially be arguing against both the dealer service rep and your own truck regarding potential warranty claims:

“Sorry sir, but your Tacoma just told me that you cornered hard six times the other day, so…”

I wonder if it can track you via GPS and deny a warranty suspension claim because you were in Moab rock crawling.

I have managed the notifications that I want in the app but the inbox has about 100 or so notifications in the app that I can't get rid of. How do you delete the notifications in the inbox of the app????

I will probably delete it when my trial ends.

I think I used the remote start maybe a dozen times. Not going to pay $8 a month for the feature.

Pairing the app with Google Assistant was sort of cool, but it didn't work consistently.

Why does it let me know I left my windows down, moonroof & hood open, doors unlocked......but not tell me that the sliding rear window is open?
