I'm wondering how long you guys let your truck "warm up". How many seconds elapse from the time you fire up your truck to the time you start moving? How long does it take our trucks to build up oil pressure?

Start truck, immediately back out of garage, roll slowly in 1st gear down the 300 ft driveway, drive slowly down the 1/4 mile private drive to main road. Then its off and running. No idle warm up time at all.

However long it takes my hand to go from ignition to the gear shifter. Maybe 1 second if I'm in a hurry and 2 seconds if I'm relaxed. :D ;)

Maybe 10 seconds. 15-20 if you include backing out of the driveway.

I wait for ignition timing to drop and come back up, which tends to be just a few seconds after the fan clutch comes out of lockup and the fan stops roaring. 30 seconds to a minute typically.

I don't wait for oil to warm up. I learned from my Civic's oil pressure gauge that it takes wayyy longer than coolant (you can tell by idle oil pressure; that car would have warm coolant in 5 minutes and warm oil in 45 minutes). When cold the idle pressure is determined by the relief valve anyways so it's gonna be at the system's maximum pressure within about 2 seconds of starting the engine, provided your filter's anti-drainback valve is working properly. As long as it's warm enough to flow to the rod bearings, and you're not revving it so hard it starves, it's fine. Still I use 0w30 to help that situation tho.

Idling is a double edged sword:
Don't let your oil warm up long enough and give it a decent amount of gas and you're hurting your engine.
Let your truck idle for too long and you're dumping fuel into the oil and causing bearing damage...

I prefer to let mine warm up for a minute in the driveway and then start driving, but never let it get above 1500 rpms. Thankfully I live near a long road that not many people drive on so I can take my time getting up to speed.

i watch the water temp on my scangauge, usually let it hit 100, take it easy on it till about 145-150. by take it easy i mean i don't like to get it over 2k rpm.

I always let it warm up, unless I am in such a hurry that I can't wait, i really take it easy, 1500 rpm or under for the first 10 minutes. I feel like its hell on the engine jumping in and going for it

You'd be surprised how much longer it takes for the oil to warm even after the coolant is warmed up. It takes forever, so I do what you do. Once I see the coolant gauge move, I move.

However long it takes me to put on my seatbelt, put it into first, and disengage the parking brake.

In the winter, I turn the truck on, scrape the windows, and go. Don't really wait for too long.

I do pretty much exactly this. 100 degrees on the Scangauge but I take it easy till the temp hits 180. I don't just do that for the engine, but things like the transmission need a little time to reach temp. From what I have gathered over many years is that the middle ground is the best place to be. There are downsides to very long idling warmups and downsides to roaring off on a cold engine. The sooner the engine temp normalizes without straining it, the better. The best way to do that is to get moving easy as soon as you can. Like most things a little "common" sense goes a long way.

Sometimes I let it warm up, sometimes I don't have time, but I keep my truck in our basement so it never gets below about 60. That said, I have to pull onto the main road about a half of a mile from my house, it's in a blind curve so I have to stomp on it pretty hard sometimes. I have to reach into the 3-4k range pretty regularly, I've got 53k on my 07 with no issues.

In the colder months I try to let it warm up for 2-3 minutes, a little more if very cold outside.

Usually remote start in the winter, otherwise long enough to take off the parking brake and clear the windshield.
